Might spark the lusi tomorrow, if it’s not a complete rainforest outside. Just finished an 06 bbf at the cigar lounge in ocean city. She was a wind tunnel after that. I gave up. I’m starting to conclude that post 2000 stuff is better young. Intensity in the first couple years. Complexity in 3-8ish. Vinegar (as they say in the wine world) after 10. I’m having a lot better luck with stuff 10 and under lately. 

Caity fired up the first cigar from her birthday box of psp exquisitos. No disappointment there. Darned fine.

Hopefully after this stop, we’ll be able to get back onto the logistical path for the box, snaking out way through Georgia, then back over to Texas again.

Does everyone like the inventory that shows all the cigars that have already been taken/by whom? I could write up another version that only shows the current contents, but it’d be more work, and I kinda think it’s cool to see all the cigars that have come and  gone so far

Big thanks to @mrmessy for absolutely CRUSHING the puts. Didn't even need, let alone USE handicap points. Too generous. True BOTL. I strongly doubt that winnie will last very long, lol. Also I just smoked my first punch royal selecion no 11 (2005) recently. SHMOWZOW! 13 years did not make that thing a gentle beast. What a powerhouse. I can only imagine the 07 will be similarly zestful.

I'll try to get the inventory updated tomorrow night if I can possibly stand it. I'm working like crazy lately, as well as getting my ducks in a row for a big move. Free time is very limited lately. After a 12 hour work day, sitting down and editing line items in a big inventory sheet is not exactly relaxing. It's usually about an hour's work to do each update and triple check that nothing is fudged/improperly indexed. I'm still waiting on the powers-that-be to upgrade us from 24 to 36 hour days. Until then, fast-response inventory updates may just not be feasible.

On that note, once I have more finalized plans, I will probably be doing a bit of a zig-zag with the box route. My move will be taking me from DC to Alaska. I'll be driving. I've estimated that the box will complete its rounds right around the middle of august, which just happens to be when I predict I will be hitting the Blaine crossing into Canada, to cruise up the ALCAN highway from British Columbia to Anchorage. I can think of no better way to cap off the pass than a sitdown in Seattle with my good buddy @awkwardPause. I'll be leaving him with some of the overstock in the box, to redistribute to a few lucky newbies as bonus prizes, and taking the rest up to Anchorage. Hopefully Rob doesn't charge extra for delivery to Alaska ;-P I don't know if anyone else has ever driven the ALCAN with a wine cooler full of cigars. I am a wingnut.

On the topic of bonus prizes... I was thinking that raffling off a few 5ers would be a cool way to go. Does anyone else have any creative ideas for other ways to go about that? It'd be nice to have a plan of attack sorted out well in advance, so they can just be mailed out from Seattle, instead of everyone having to wait for me to drive the length of Canada, then mail everything out on a slow boat from Alaska. @Ethernut and @jsummers157 I know you guys have experience with this. Any suggestions on a structure for coordinating giveaways?

@Ouftastic informed me the box was getting a bit cramped. There were a few cigars in there that were gifts to me from previous participants, and he elected to just mail those to me to free space in the box. After a 12+ hour workday today, I was overjoyed and touched to see what you guys had graciously shared with me. What a cigar bomb!! You guys are too kind. Thank you so much. I think I might have to take one or two of those with me on my roadtrip this weekend. My heart is warmed. Thank you. 

On a logistical note, apparently the postal service had a snafu today and failed to deliver the box to @grizzlee  . He’s informed me that he will try to take possession of the box tomorrow, but it is in limbo until we receive further updates on that. The original plan was to thread the needle with @shaffer22 ‘s travel plans, with him being next in line for participation. Will have to wait and see what happens tomorrow with USPS though. Might have to do a last minute re-route if the scheduling doesn’t work out, as @grizzlee has a pretty slammed schedule this weekend as well. Stay tuned for updates. 

Just in case - if anyone (who is classified as *NEWBIE* - not a vet) is available last minute to have the box go to them next, please reach out to me by email. I will be checking the travel dates everyone has provided me, and will try reaching out to a few of you directly as well.
