I think I still count as a newbie. Been wondering for years: what does 24:24 MEAN?

I think the best explanation for the term comes from the fact that a '24 hour sale' in English means a sale of stock for a short time, not necessarily 24 hours, literally. For a business, it may be a sale on the day it is held, so literally it would be maybe eight to ten hours. On FoH, the 24 hours sale would last until stock was sold out, or until the next day. Usually, the stock would sell out (and quickly)!

So, if we take the first 24 to mean a 24 hours sale and the second 24 to mean a literal 24 hours; then know that the Weekend sale used to be called 24:72 because it would go for three days (i.e. the Friday, Saturday and Sunday) or until stock sold out, which it usually did. But that was all in the past...before the Covid-19 pandemic and the rationalisation of the Cuban Cigar industry which has so greatly affected current supply.

Actually evolved after Rob stopped doing Live From The Humidor/Warehouse sales, and started the 12:12 sale; 12 cigars posted at 12pm.

Greetings from Toronto, Canada, where yes, we can get Cubans, but they are a complete and utter ripoff thanks to an insane amount of tax! It's great to be here. I'm trying to get my hands on some Puro Desnudo Canonazo N6s but have no idea if they are available in Canada. If someone can enlighten, I would be grateful. Thanks all!

With prices what they are, what Cuban cigar do you recommend for a new Cuban cigar smoker who really only smokes Connecticut wrap cigars (leaf by Oscar and the Perdomo 10th anniversary)?

I have taught myself to retrohale and the only flavors I pick up are either pepper or horseradish. Am I doing something wrong?

In Canada, we are having a postal strike at the moment. I was wondering if anyone here knew by what method cigars are shipped to Canada. Is it through USPS to Canada Post? Or is it through FedEx or some other comparable courier? Thank you in advance!

Read the FOH rules. Shipping is not discussed under any circumstance. There is no benefit in giving agencies a heads up.

Do you mean the FoH Store? Or perhaps the daily 24:24 thread? In regard to the store, that changed when distribution was rationed from mid-2022 after Habanos S.A. changed their business model. In regard to the daily 24:24 thread, it runs from Tuesday to Friday each week (Brisbane, Australia time).

Habanos S.A has retained a 50% share in their Habanos cigar business. There are numerous references on our forum over the years that highlights the control of supply that Cuba has over their unique product. The suggestion that China completely owns and controls the supply and distribution of Habanos cigars is unequivocally false.

Newbie here trying to figure it all out. Is 24:24 the only area of purchase of Cuban cigars on foh?

Newb to CC so was wondering, now that I have tried some CC like the Siglo 1, Monte 5 and a couple other small 40 ish ring gauge cigars. Why have they started making larger rg and how do they compare to their smaller rg of the same marca?

My condolences on smoking a Siglo I.  😂 Move up the ladder....2's 3's etc. Those are much better.

In general terms, Habanos S.A. started making larger ring gauge cigars at the start of the 2000s because of demand related to the trend of larger ring gauge cigars in New World cigars during the 90s. "Purists"...you know, the strict Habanos enthusiasts that prefer smaller ring-gauged cigars had to adapt to the ever-increasing deletion of Coronas, Lonsdales and Churchills during the 2000s.

Smaller ring gauge cigars tend to have more strength and are 'sharper' on the palate than other vitolas within the same brand.

I, in fact, have very recently received some Siglo 3 that are currently resting. What might I expect in regards to being better than the Siglo 1?
