Ken Gargett Posted February 13, 2018 Posted February 13, 2018 i apologise if we have done this before. it seems as though we should have but i could find no evidence. granted, i didn't look too hard. personally, would love to have a dog - a real dog, not one of those mutant, carry-in-your-purse, 'i'm a real boy' furry nodding things that should have been taped to the inside of your back windscreen. but where i live, no space, too much travel, too many ticks. etc etc. i have nothing against cats, actually like them, but the problem is the massive damage they do to native wildlife. and we now have something like 30 million feral cats, killing up to 25-30 native animals a day (a feral cat in australia is to your house cat as a taipan is to an earthworm) and some idiot american environmentalist - i do not so describe to belittle any country but because we have more than enough idiots of our own and some are also environmentalists but simply because she could not be made aware of the absurdity of her demands from her far-off throne of righteousness - demanding that we catch and neuter them all, rather than dispose of them. so i'd ban or shoot all cats.
jay8354 Posted February 13, 2018 Posted February 13, 2018 I think they reason you can't find the old posts is because they got locked and removed as it got fairly personal. I don't have an issue with either dogs or cats, as long as people are responsible owners. look after their pets, get them de-sexed and ensure the native wildlife are not endangered. To be fair. yes feral cats in Australia is a major issue but then again, so are any feral non native animals in this country. 1

Fuzz Posted February 13, 2018 Posted February 13, 2018 Was that the are dogs or cats smarter thread? If so, it is still there.

anacostiakat Posted February 13, 2018 Posted February 13, 2018 As a wee lad I had a pair of cats and a Doberman. The cats ran away. So, I too have nothing against cats as they keep the vermin down and can be very beneficial in a city home. But I am a dog man hands down.
PrairieSmoke Posted February 13, 2018 Posted February 13, 2018 I’m a dog person. (Can you tell?) But I live in a very rural area so there are always barn cats (feral) roaming around. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
MooseAMuffin Posted February 13, 2018 Posted February 13, 2018 Dont mind farm cats to help keep critters down. But, I'm definitely a dog person. Unfortunately lost my smoking buddy last week at 16 years of age. Smoking is much lonelier now but we had a lot of fun times! 3
Puros Y Vino Posted February 13, 2018 Posted February 13, 2018 I grew up with cats. I appreciate dogs. But I'm too lazy to care for either.
godpheonix Posted February 13, 2018 Posted February 13, 2018 Honestly this whole idea of house pets as only come of age after someone realized how lucrative a business it would be! and now the whole thing as become a huge problem! I'm sorry but i have a dog ( golden retriever). it wasn't my idea though, the wife. I soon understood how absurd it was to have a home pet. they should of left the wolf and wild cats alone and not create all these different breeds of dogs and cats for the masses. What a mess! Once he's gone, their ain't any more "PETS" coming home! Sorry if this shocks some people but this was a rotten idea at its core! the first persons who thought\started this surely would be shocked with what it's become today! 2
Buck14 Posted February 13, 2018 Posted February 13, 2018 DOGS (but Iove all animals) BRUNO (LEFT - just turned 10) BAXTER (RIGHT - RIP APR 17) 3
Ethernut Posted February 13, 2018 Posted February 13, 2018 Neither. I tend to enjoy all of my neighbors pets though.

I love animals! i'm just not keen on the idea of using\manipulating them to make money! have you ever read up on how many animals suffer through the breeding process of making a new breed? you're jaw would drop. it's not pretty!
GrouchoMarx Posted February 13, 2018 Posted February 13, 2018 I have 2 dogs. I like cats - but I just can't eat a whole one all by myself. 2 1
Popular Post Drguano Posted February 13, 2018 Popular Post Posted February 13, 2018 It should come as no surprise that I am a cat person. We have three neutered beasts that do not go outside so the birds and rodents are safe as are our kitties. Agnes would like a large dog but would be on her own when it comes to picking up the byproducts. 8 1

Popular Post BuzzArd Posted February 13, 2018 Popular Post Posted February 13, 2018 Cats for me. Dogs are too damned happy. I like a pet that says to me "F_ck you" before I can say it to them. But sometimes.... sometimes they just want to hang by the fire and enjoy a fine Cuban cigar. 5

99call Posted February 13, 2018 Posted February 13, 2018 The weirdest thing about cat people is......... They often say they don't like dogs as they are needy, idolising souls, who will love you no matter what, but they themselves coo and talk at their cats, and exhibit all of those dog traits, whilst the cat sit there going "Sorry????? who the hell are you again?......oh thats right, you're the chump that feeds me, whilst I offer you nothing but contempt, and continuous flashes of my anus" Dogs are ace, but brutal when you have to vets for the last time. Border Collie's are particularly fabulous beasts.
joeypots Posted February 13, 2018 Posted February 13, 2018 Dogs. My wife is allergic to cats. Poggio at ten months. 3
Islandboy Posted February 13, 2018 Posted February 13, 2018 Cats, dogs, it doesn’t matter - as long as we’ve helped ‘em out of a bad situation by giving them love and a home. Here’s Mojo the day I found him out mountain biking, high up in the forest. He has no idea of the ride he’s about to go on. Felt pretty good that I saved about a hundred birds by taking him home. We grow a lot of cat nap around our place. 3 1
fitzy Posted February 13, 2018 Posted February 13, 2018 I like both. I grew up with both but currently only have dogs. Nobody wants a cat in our house except me.
