Popular Post El Presidente Posted January 19, 2018 Popular Post Posted January 19, 2018 I was asked today why some rollers put a mark on the cap of the cigar. Is it like a Zorro insignia but an L or an I. Maybe a roller namer "Lazaro" or Ignacio. "some of my finest work....let it be know that this masterpiece is the work of Lazaro!!!!" Well....it's not quite that sexy On occassion when inspecting boxes and i can't come to a decision on the quality of the roll, I will take the tightest/heaviest and with a box cutter, gently slice the cap and take a draw through the foot. It looks like this. I never expected anyone to notice as it is a 1 in 150 box exercise...and then only 1-2 cigars in that box. I mean...let no man say that OCD permeates the cigar community 1 2 2 1
Popular Post LordAnubis Posted January 19, 2018 Popular Post Posted January 19, 2018 Better be a good discount on the cut and sucked on box!!!Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2 5
DBNInc Posted January 19, 2018 Posted January 19, 2018 That's some next level customer service! But seriously, that's the whole point of coming to FOH. As far as I'm concerned, at least there's a better chance they all draw well. 2
KnightsAnole Posted January 19, 2018 Posted January 19, 2018 Just thinking that maybe HSA should invest in a few more of these: http://www.drawmaster40.com/
fastkiller13 Posted January 19, 2018 Posted January 19, 2018 I'm going to go through my boxes and see if I have any @El Presidente specials. If so I think an auction may be in order. Who thinks el pres can beat out that half smoked Churchill cigar? 1
Guybrush Posted January 19, 2018 Posted January 19, 2018 A vendor once showed me: You can also grab the cigar in the fist (near the head of the cigar) and blow through the foot. If the draw is good you can feel it pulsating 1 1

If the draw is good you can feel it pulsating ^^^^ This ^^^ I've found this to be a consistently accurate method in identifying tent pegs. Naturally it has to be done prior to the cut. 1 1

If the draw is good you can feel it pulsating Another one is to take the foot of an uncut cigar and suck on half of the foot(a semi circle of it), you can see how the draw will be based on how easy/hard it is as the air is being drawn from the other half of the foot that you're not sucking on 1
