El Presidente Posted January 17, 2018 Posted January 17, 2018 Those that have smoked them ...weigh in I intend to smoke them with ken in about a week but they are dryboxing/acclimatising currently. What can we expect? Many thanks for your input
cmbarton Posted January 17, 2018 Posted January 17, 2018 I can’t wait to hear the feedback. Hoping these are the aged Robustos from HU’s earlier production several years back.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
torsion Posted January 17, 2018 Posted January 17, 2018 Already hearing good things from friends who have tried them so far when comparing with the other Anejados releases. I have a few on the way to try and was keen as Upmann is def one of my fav marcas but unlikely I will get to try them that soon.
alloy Posted January 18, 2018 Posted January 18, 2018 I too have a box on the way. They will sit in the wineador for a good long while.
Popular Post cookj1 Posted January 18, 2018 Popular Post Posted January 18, 2018 Good Cuban cigars with the typical H Upmann flavours, but you’re just paying a premium for Habanos to age them for you. I’m still unsure on the anejados, in general. They’re good, but they’re not brilliant. You certainly don’t get the youthfulness of a young Cuban, which I don’t mind. I quite like visiting a box over time to see how they’re coming along. I missed that with these robustos, and I’m not saying that’s a bad thing. ...just something I enjoy from the perspective of collecting, aging, and smoking. I wish Habanos would just release a regular production H Upmann Robusto without two bands on it. In conclusion, if you’re on the fence, don’t take the plunge. Your money is better spent on better regular production cigars like Boli RC, PSD4, JL2. And for a little bit more, Cohiba Robusto. if you must have them, you’re not buying crap; they’re still good. Just remember what you’re paying the premium for and adjust your expectations accordingly. 6
RijkdeGooier Posted January 19, 2018 Posted January 19, 2018 Another non existing vitola that exists solely as an aged version. Montecristo Julieta No.2, H.Upmann Robusto what next.

But that would be the gift of gifts if they are the 12 ELs as those were one of the better ELs ever released IMO.

Bummer. Still want to try one.
cmbarton Posted January 21, 2018 Posted January 21, 2018 Bummer for sure! I’ll still try some but my expectations are dampened a bit. On the flip side, I’ll still have the HU RR if the Añejados doesn't work out!
Nikolaos Posted February 14, 2018 Posted February 14, 2018 Just Received a box of robustos anejados. Could not resist so I tried one. No review just some thoughts. 1. very good cigar 2. Now way this is an Upmann robusto. not even an upmann blend. 3. More a Partagas blend than anything else. In my mind this was rolled as a Partagas D4 but with a lighter wrapper and left aside. Factory code is BUA JUL 11 One last thing. Retail of upmann robusto anejado 315 euro. Retail price of Partagas D4 2016 and 2017 production 290 euro. It is not a bad price even for an aged Partagas
Vitty Posted February 14, 2018 Posted February 14, 2018 They are some very nice looking cigars if nothing else...haven’t tried any yet. Still acclimatizing. 1
Kbb Posted February 15, 2018 Posted February 15, 2018 I saw a recent review on Cigar Inspector. The reviewer said it did not seem to be an Upmann blend, but in his opinion it was the best Anejado yet. http://www.cigarinspector.com/h-upmann/cigar-review-h-upmann-robusto-anejados
jerrybrowne Posted February 15, 2018 Posted February 15, 2018 Am I the only one who thinks there is an unusual amount of nicotine in a stick of this size? Just had one and am woozy- and I've been doing 4 cigars a day for the last 5-6 days.....
fitzy Posted February 15, 2018 Posted February 15, 2018 I'm eagerly waiting for mine to be delivered. 1

Nico Posted February 15, 2018 Posted February 15, 2018 I’ve only tried one of each of HdM and RyJ and they were not good at all, but the upmann blew me away. Not the typical upmann DNA, just like the other vitolas to the respective marcas. The flavor reminded me of cinnamon buns. Construction wise it seems to have some issues though according to a Facebook group I’m in like wrappers falling of etc. Mine started to tunnel the last 3rd and the other one had a tight draw so I haven’t smoked it yet. First impression flavorwise, it was a really good one, not just compared to the RyJ and HdM, but overall as well. I’m very interested to see how other people react to upmann añejados. Kbb Posted February 15, 2018 Posted February 15, 2018 Rob mentioned he was going to smoke one with Ken. Not sure if that was going to be a video review or anything, but I can not find reference to Rob's impression of this stick. Did I miss it?
torsion Posted February 15, 2018 Posted February 15, 2018 I smoked my first one this Monday night after freezer treatment and prob almost a month sitting in the humi. I've not smoked any of the other Anejados yet but I enjoyed this one. Didn't seem typical Upmann to me (what do I know!?) and someone mentioned Partagas above which come to think of it I would tend to agree with. Need to smoked another sample in maybe a month after more travel rest and acclimatization. 1

Corylax18 Posted February 15, 2018 Posted February 15, 2018 I've got a 6er on the way. I haven't had much luck (any) with Anejados to date, but I've enjoyed a number of Upmann "Special Releases", so we'll see where this one falls on that spectrum. I'll give them a month or so to acclimatize, then report back.
fitzy Posted February 23, 2018 Posted February 23, 2018 First taste was of pepper like a Nicaraguan but that went away almost immediately but I did get hints of some other kind of spice and maybe gingerbread almost. I don’t have a refind pallet. I also get a bit of a metallic taste sometimes along with an occasional hint of cedar and leather.
bwgan Posted February 23, 2018 Posted February 23, 2018 Strong strong strong is my vote. Both in flavor and body, a bit too strong. Good God, if these have been aged I hate to think of them freshSent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk 1
