cfc1016 Posted March 5, 2018 Posted March 5, 2018 I should get the box tomorrow at some point. It’s going to take me a long time to grt everything all organized and reboxed. I work really long hours wed-fri. Getting in a trip to the post office might not be feasible til Saturday. I’ll post plenty of pictures, updated inventory, and any other updates sometime tomorrow night after I’ve gotten everything sorted.
cfc1016 Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 One at a time... *everything* gets counted, accounted for, double checked, triple checked. OCD is a benefit sometimes. It’s kinda a pain too ?
cfc1016 Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 Had to extend one of the leaves on my desk to accommodate this monster. Inventory is reconciled. After getting clearance from @Wertman on a few discrepancies, receiving approval for my puts/takes, and reboxing, I’ll be hopefully headed to the post office for an under-a-day turnover time ? 1
cfc1016 Posted March 7, 2018 Posted March 7, 2018 After a ~6 hour whirlwind today, I received the box AND got it shipped down the line to @Habana Mike. I exhaustively recatalogued the contents of the box, indexed the contents of each finger bag to the main inventory, got my puts/takes approved, repackaged, and got it shipped. It was a long day. Everything is meticulously packed now. No more need for creative boxing. I put instructions on the cooler for re-using it in a manner that will hopefully allow the styrofoam and the inner cooler bag to remain intact well beyong the end of this round of the pass, and well into the next round. Ok... I know. This is all you really wanted to see... rguinn Posted March 7, 2018 Posted March 7, 2018 Nicely done sir! I have a feeling one of your 898’s will be one of my takes! Haven’t had one before but they’ve been on my shortlist on 24/24. Best, Ryan

Wertman Posted March 7, 2018 Author Posted March 7, 2018 @cfc1016. All I have to say is WOW what you did for this pass is awesome. Thank you thank you thank you. And those Puts the 898 is going to be a huge hit also those montes with the age. You really hit it out of the park. Thanks again brother. @Habana Mike is awaiting the pass how should have it by Friday or so. He said he had some tricks up his sleeve so interested in finding out what??????? It's so exciting. 1

It certainly seems like it will make things easier moving forward, and the puts seem great to me. 898 and Monte 4 seem to be a favorite of most so I'm sure they will be appreciated. Also again thanks for the generosity of time, thats the most important gift. Might I suggest in a show of respect and appreciation for your efforts you might be permitted to grab a cigar or two when the pass is finished and on its way back to @Wertman? Unless that was already factored into your takes, I'm a total noob especially when it comes to the value and rarity of aged cigars. 1

There WAS one in there that was deemed a bit too big a take, so i put it back. Maybe @wertman will hook me up ?? As much work as it is/was to do all that inventory stuff, it’s worth it. With 19, count em NINETEEN finger bags full of cigars in no certain order, it’s helpful to have an index. Then when you know what you want to take, you jist search the index and see that it’s in bag #13, position 4, for example. No need to pull cigars in and out of the bags unless you’re taking them. I certainly got a lot of value out of my takes, regardless of the degree of equity of puts/takes. I impatiently enjoyed that psd4 last night. Nomnom good. Really looking forward to the aged stock. I’m ordering another box of 2008 898s tonight too, lol. I’m spoiled on aged stock now. Hard to go back when you’ve grown accustomed to the refined delicacy of aged stock. 1

cfc1016 Posted March 8, 2018 Posted March 8, 2018 A note to anyone who is interested in the BRU AGO 10 monte 4s I put in. I hope you take 2. This box is SPECTACULAR. This cigar I’m currently smoking has already progressed from walnut to chile to hazelnut to chocolate to leather to leppered steak. Each one seems to tell a distinct story. No two in the box have been exactly the same. No single stick could give you a feel for the overall profile of the box. None have been mediocre. It's been such a delight to work through this box. 2
Habana Mike Posted March 10, 2018 Posted March 10, 2018 So the box is here! Looking forward to perusing the options and crushing the puts... Next in line rguinn is about an hour away so proposing to meet up Sunday for a smoke and the hand-off. Hope we can get together, I might bring something nice for us to light up. 1

Wertman Posted March 11, 2018 Author Posted March 11, 2018 Great job. I bet those Cohiba shorts will be a huge hit. I can't wait to try one myself. They looks great. The box is being passed of today then off to Florida after that to @steelcity. Then back up the east coast. 1
rguinn Posted March 11, 2018 Posted March 11, 2018 I had the privilege of meeting up with Mike this afternoon for the hand off and a smoke. Mike - again, thank you for your generosity and the opportunity to smoke one hell of a Trinidad Robusto. You're an asset to the community sir and I enjoyed meeting you! I've submitted my puts/takes to Wertman for approval and if all goes well I'll post and ship out to steelcity tomorrow. Best, Ryan 1
