We will have a facility to do so mid next year. it will be member to member only however.

I have a question: What exactly is this foreign concept you call “excess inventory”?

Friends! The best thing about cigars is the company. And there are plenty of friends who are happy to buy cigars that I don’t like as my palate/smoking habits change. But I don’t flip to mates, just p

Good post, you beat me to it!

Was going to ask the same question.

Used to sell on Kijiji, but new policies on the Canada site won't let that happen anymore.

Are we allowed to offer up trades? No money exchanged, just what two members think is a fair trade. I have a box, minus 2, that I don’t particularly care for but I know other members think highly of these.

See also the new rule forum: http://www.friendsof...howtopic=106496

1. Do not post prices or sources. Please research members posting history to assess suitability.

2. Trading Room is about "swapping cigars" not selling them. There is to be no intentional commercial benefit in the transaction. I will delete any posts which mention $'s. Work out shipping (domestic or international through e-mail/PM)

3. Tossers and wankers will be banned from the forum if the spirit of the forum is threatened. If you need this to be explained then do yourself a favour and bugger off now.

4. Deal directly and not on the open forum. Post what you have to trade with a photo if you like. State what you are seeking in a trade or thereabouts.

5 Once a trade is completed, it is the responsibility of the originator to close the thread.

6.. When posting your trade, post under the category "Trading Room"

7. It is expected that all trades will be shipped within 2 business days of the trade being agreed privately.

9. If a problem eventuates then work the bloody thing out privately. If you believe that you are dealing with satan himself....contact me privately.

This service has been made available at member request. Used properly it will benefit many.

No problem.

However given the recent scams that have been going on in some facebook sites, how is one protected (if they can be) outside of caveat emptor?  Particularly in relation to aged stock?

Being a Private Group may offer protection but a Private group requires vetting (I assume)?

Yes Rob.  You are 1,000% correct.  I am keeping the list very tight.  Not looking for 1,000 schmucks to be involved in this group like the other asshat spots that are just a churn and burn operation.  The big SCAM (that you were clued in on) was the BHK bullshit that went down...

Thank you and I agree Rob.

Actually, as you probably can tell from the numbers - I buy 99% of everything I own from you LOL....or if I'm lucky - the occasional private collection that I happen to come across that is not being promoted....

But I am aging lots of boxes and will throw up a fiver so someone else can get a taste of a 3-5 year old vitola.

Every single FB group is "secret", "private", et cetera. That offers exactly zero protection from scams. Remember the guy on OLH that had a stellar reputation and then decided to do an "exit scam"? I'm not saying that there is no use for a marketplace but caveat emptor applies, no matter what.

Got caught up in that one myself and got burned.  "Secret" groups with "exclusive" invites are a huge red flag.  If you're just looking for a 5'er, you might be ok.  If you're looking to buy HTF stuff, proceed at your own risk.

This is a hobby to some and a business to others. A few fall in both categories.

Well put, that sums up my experiences.
