Popular Post Habana Mike Posted November 23, 2017 Popular Post Posted November 23, 2017 Trinidad Fundadores EL NISU Laguito Especial40 x 192 (7.6") For today I've selected one of my favorite cigars of all time. A true stalwart for me back in the day though I still enjoy the more recent editions as well. Silky, oily milk chocolate wrapper, perfectly constructed. Clip and the draw is just snug enough. Off she goes! Starts with some dark woody notes, fern, almond. Smoke is a bit dry on the palate and the finish is shorter than I recall. Medium bodied. I love the way the ash forms on well-aged cigars. Someone once called it stacking coins.... Toward the mid-point there is a rush of rich almost juicy flavors. Macchiato, leather, biscuit. Shifting into high gear now. Hard to do anything but pay attention to the cigar, it is all-consuming! Medium-full in strength as we approach the end of the cigar. Dark earth, walnut, raisin. Ash consistently holds to over an inch before dropping each time. The anilla is quite loose and slides easily off. A very long finish now leaving my palate coated with lovely cocoa notes. Over two hours of glorious smoking pleasure. At almost 20 this Grand Dame stills gives a great ride. 11

JohnS Posted November 23, 2017 Posted November 23, 2017 Mike, with that box code, that would be a wonderful late 90s Fundadores! Trinidad that is aged like that, well...yeah, you just have to experience for yourself, don't you? 1
Islandboy Posted November 24, 2017 Posted November 24, 2017 Wow, what an experience. Great review, and great pics...that ash! 1

Probably went through a dozen boxes when readily available. Sadly down to a handful I begrudgingly smoke once or twice a year.... 1
