99call Posted November 8, 2017 Posted November 8, 2017 Getting excited, as next week I will be travelling back to Australia for the first time since I was 18. Really interested to se whats changed in the intervening 19 years. It seems notes so far (in line with my research) 1- Don't introduce myself by name.......(my name being Stefan) 2
Islandboy Posted November 8, 2017 Posted November 8, 2017 LOL. And if you’re lactose intolerant, don’t mention that either.

Sorry about the Trent video, I'd not seen it for years, and only just watched if back.....and indeed far too blue for the forum. Apologies Last time on an Aussie beach for me was on Rottnest Island, something touched my leg (100% probably seaweed) I proceeded to freak out, and turned to water around me into a cappuchino with my four flailing limbs. Aussie toddlers looked on as I pathetically dragged myself onto dry land. Nature is quite humbling, especially when there's actually nothing there! 1

Don't forget; Eviscerated by a kangaroo Clawed by a koala Stung by an irukanji, blue ringed octopus or stonefish
99call Posted November 9, 2017 Author Posted November 9, 2017 The dingo is the worst to me. Watched a survival show with ray mears. And he said the bivvy bags people sleep in have a face cover. As they like to wake you up by ripping your face off (chin first) charming
GrouchoMarx Posted November 9, 2017 Posted November 9, 2017 Don't forget the box jellyfish! Loads of fun to play with.

As they like to wake you up by ripping your face off (chin first) charming i have no idea who ray mears is - i am hoping a comedian, even if not a very funny one - but if he is serious then i am assuming he is now also the part owner of the sydney harbour bridge.
Drguano Posted November 9, 2017 Posted November 9, 2017 Don't ask what koala tastes like. Trust me...

Yep, your right on the money Ken, I'd got this mixed up with some Hyena stories in Africa of face maullings while people sleep camping out. Ray Mears is a brilliant bloke, I highly recommend catching some of his stuff on youtube. This one on the construction on a birch bark canoe is awesome.

And what about those signs all over Sydney warning of "tree failure"??
