Philc2001 Posted November 7, 2017 Posted November 7, 2017 I mostly use Cuban Crafters double blade cutters, they've done the job for years and stay sharp. I really prefer the simple curved double blade cutters, they let you nick the cap around the head without crushing the head, and give you much more control over the cut. About a year ago I picked up one of these - Possibly the worst cutter ever made, not worth the $12 or $15 I paid for it.
Naug Posted November 7, 2017 Posted November 7, 2017 I've been using Xikar since 98 or 99. My first one was replaced by Xikar in 2004 or so, and recently I've noticed that it's a bit dull. Heading back to the States tomorrow, perhaps it's time for a new one.

garbandz Posted November 7, 2017 Posted November 7, 2017 Poor example of a cross section of a market. Principle complaint "cost" The absence of Palio negates the veracity of the whole thing for me. So I will add it in: Palio, One hell of a nice cutter, sharp and reliable. it is a bit costly, BUT IT IS WORTH IT ! I own two,and have given one to several of my friends.

The car cutter has been knocked around a fair bit but the finish is still (mostly) intact and the blades are perfect I've got 5 Xikars and theyre all fairly old and getting dull now, I could ship them back to the US for sharpening but after close to 10 years of service I'm happy to retire the oldest ones and buy another Palio or two I have a Palio.... it has a notch in the blades where it caved in to a hard piece of stem (i assume...). Whatever it was the blade didn't hold up. It still works, but I won't be buying another. Still very happy with any Xikar product I own.
BigAsh Posted November 8, 2017 Posted November 8, 2017 Meh....some good choices but certainly not exhaustive....I've been using Xikar MTX Folding Cigar Scissors for years....been my go to over Palio and "regular" Xikar....love them!...Sharp, a really controlled cut, and some bonus tools attached

It does not cut well at all. If you want to skim the cap it does well. If you want to cut off a little more than that, you will most likely end up cracking the wrapper. A shame. https://www.lighterusa.com/collections/s-t-dupont-1/products/s-t-dupont-maxijet-black-lacquer-cigar-cutter This has to be the worst cutter ever. Mine started to gum up because the tobacco leaves would just fall in the crack/mechanism and there is no way to remove them.
jazzboypro Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 I use the Cuban Crafters. Been using it for the past 3-4 years. Much better than the 2 Palios's that i have.
Eric05 Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 i love my colibri v cutter. Nice deep clean v cut. If i dont use that then I use the xikar scissors
