Some people meditate; I smoke cigars. Ron Perlman

A good cigar is as great a comfort to a man as a good cry is to a woman. Edward Bulwer-Lytton

Love: it is like a cigar; if it goes out, you can light it again but it never tastes quite the same. Archibald Wavell

A woman is an occasional pleasure but a cigar is always a smoke. Groucho Marx

Actually, that's a Rudyard Kipling quote.

Groucho did say: (trust me on this LOL)

To a woman with a large family" "I love my cigar too, but I take it out of my mouth once in a while"

and

"Given the choice of a woman or a cigar, I will always pick the cigar".

The quote has already been mentioned, but it would be a dereliction of duty if I didn’t provide links regarding Kipling’s poem where it is found. IMHO it is the finest verse written on the love of our ‘dusky beauties’ -

“ The Betrothed" is a poem by Rudyard Kipling, first published in book form in Departmental Ditties (1886).

It is a tongue-in-cheek work by the young bachelor Kipling, who affected a very worldly-wise stance. In it, he takes as his epigraph the report of evidence in a breach of promise case, "You must choose between me and your cigar". The poem simply has a narrator musing on the difference between his fiancée Maggie and his habit of smoking cigars:

For Maggie has written a letter to give me my choice between
The wee little whimpering Love and the great god Nick o' Teen.

He weighs up Maggie's looks, and what she will be at fifty; the limitations of monogamy against "a harem of dusky beauties"; and the relatively unknown woman against the tried and tested "Counsellors" and "comforters". His conclusion is:

And a woman is only a woman, but a good cigar is a Smoke.
Light me another Cuba - I hold to my first-sworn vows,
If Maggie will have no rival, I'll have no Maggie for Spouse! “

“I drink a great deal. I sleep a little, and I smoke cigar after cigar. That is why I am in two-hundred-percent form.” Winston Churchill

This one is taken out of context and only half the fun (and in doubt being the correct original quote).

It's been his response to General Montgomery when claiming "I neither drink nor smoke and I am 100 percent fit.", Churchill replied "I drink and smoke and I am 200 percent fit."

“If your wife doesn’t like the aroma of your cigar, change your wife.” Zino Davidoff

My favorite quote. Always reminds me of my ex wife. Oh how she hated my cigars... :D

Or a bad woman, depending on how much happiness you can handle"

"Children of 25, who have seven years of experience, try to tell me what is a good cigar and what isn't. Me, who never learned to smoke, but always smoked: me, who came into this world asking for a light."

Mark Twain has the best quotes on just about everything. He's truly an American treasure.

I do believe that he was anti-Cuban when it came to his cigars, though.

One is over quickly and satisfies a craving. The other takes way longer and sometimes leaves you wondering if it was genuine? :P
