Popular Post Philc2001
I thought it would be helpful to have a list of current production hand-made long filler skinny cigars that are up 40 ring or less (< 16mm). I was surprised how many are still in production, but of those remaining most are not cheap (which I arbitrarily set at < $4 USD/cigar). The cheapies under $4/cigar that I believe are still in production are the following: El Rey del Mundo Demi Tasse - Entreactos - 3 6/7" x 30 (100mm x 11.91mm) Fonseca Delicias - Standard - 4 3/4" x 40 (123mm x 15.87mm) Fonseca KDT Cadetes - Cadete - 4 1/2" x 36 (114mm x 14.29mm) Hoyo de Monterrey Palmas Extra - Cremas - 5 1/2" x 40 (140mm x 15.87mm) Jose L. Piedra Petit Cetros - Petit Cetros JLP - 5" x 37 (127mm x 15.08mm) Jose L. Piedra Cremas - Cremas JLP - 5 1/3" x 40 (136mm x 15.87mm) Partagas Habaneros - Belveders - 4 5/6" x 39 (125mm x 15.48mm) Por Larrañaga Panetelas * - Vegueritos - 5" x 36 (127mm x 14.29mm) Rafael Gonzalez Panetelas Extra * - Vegueritos - 5" x 36 (127mm x 14.29mm) Rafael Gonzalez Perlas - Petit Coronas - 4" x 40 (102mm x 15.87mm) Romeo y Julieta Belvederes - Belvederes - 4 5/6" x 39 (125mm x 15.48mm) Romeo y Julieta Petit Julietas - Entreactos - 3 6/7" x 30 (100mm x 11.91mm) Romeo y Julieta Sport Largos - Sports - 4 3/5" x 34 (117mm x 13.89mm) * Short Filler The following appear to be in production, but they are over $4/cigar, some are much more (estimated box prices): Bolivar Tubos No. 3 - Placeras - 4 5/6" x 33 (125mm x 13.49mm) ( ~ $130) Cohiba Coronas Especiales - Palma - 5 8/9" x 38 (152mm x 15.1mm) ( ~ $330) Cohiba Exquisitos - Seoane - Length: 4 7/8" x 33 (126mm x 13.1mm) ( ~ $230) Cohiba Lanceros - Laguito No. 1 - 7 1/2" x 37 (192mm x 15.08mm) ( ~$450) Cohiba Panetelas - Lauguito No. 3 - 4 1/2" x 26 (115mm x 10.32mm) ( ~ $195) Hoyo de Monterrey Le Hoyo Du Maire - Entreactos - 3 6/7" x 30 (100mm x 11.91mm) ( ~ $105) Hoyo de Monterrey Le Hoyo du Depute - Tabucos - 4 1/4" x 37 (110mm x 15.08mm) ( ~ $130) Hoyo de Monterrey le Hoyo du Prince ** - Almuerzos - 5 1/9" x 40 (130mm x 15.87mm) ( ~ $155) H.Upmann Majestic - Cremas - 5 1/2" x 40 (140mm x 15.87mm) ( ~ $105) La Gloria Cubana Medaille D Or No. 4 - Palmitas - 5 8/9" x 32 (152mm x 12.7mm) ( ~ $150) Montecristo Joyitas - Laguito No. 3 - 4 1/2" x 26 (115mm x 10.32mm) ( ~ $120) Montecristo Especiales No. 2 - Palma - 5 8/9" x 38 (152mm x 15.1mm) ( ~ $250) Partagas Aristocrats - Petit Cetros - 5" x 40 (129mm x 15.87mm) ( ~$105) Partagas Partagas de Luxe (AT) - Cremas - 5 1/2" x 40 (140mm x 15.87mm) ( ~$130) Partagas Super Partagas - Cremas - 5 1/2" x 40 (140mm x 15.87mm) ( ~ $105) Por Larrañaga Montecarlos - Deliciosos - 6 1/4" x 33 (159mm x 13.1mm) ( ~ $120) Punch Petit Coronations T.A. - Coronitas - 4 3/5" x 40 (117mm x 15.87mm) ( ~ $115) Romeo y Julieta Julieta - Panetelas - 4 2/3" x 32 (120mm x 13.09mm) ( ~$120) Romeo y Julieta Romeo No. 1 T.A. - Cremas - 5 1/2" x 40 (140mm x 15.87mm) ( ~ $130) Trinidad Fundadores - Laguito Especial - 7 1/2" Ring Gauge: 40 (192mm x 15.87mm) ( ~$400) ** Announced as discontinued There are some more, but I have not seen them anywhere in stock for quite some time (maybe discontinued?): Montecristo Especiales - Gran Panetela - 7.56" x 38 (192mm x 15.1mm) ( ~$450) I probably missed a bunch, so let me know if there are others that should be included in the list (as long as they are not more than 40 rg or < 16mm). 1

David88
Cohiba lancero, montecristo especiales, cohiba Corona especiales, Trinidad fundadores (I think that has a RG of 40) are all in current production. The le Hoyo du prince was discontinued this year. While some are still available, I haven’t seen any with 2017 box codes.
Fugu
Hi Phil, on a glimpse PLP and RGPE are short-fillers. The du Prince has been discontinued, while still available (fairly)
Philc2001
Ok, updates: Added the short-filler disclaimer on PLP and RGPE Added discontinued to Du Prince Added Cobhiba Lancero, Corona Especiales and Exquisitos I did not add the Fundadores as they are 40rg, and this list is for < 40. I did not add the Monte Especiales because everywhere I checked they are not even listed (not even as out of stock). But since they are not officially on a cut list I can add them. Schumi5
If 40 rg is off the list, I think you should remove the Upmann Majestics as they are 40 as per CCW.

Trying not to be a pain in the arse, but by the same token, you would then have to remove others, such as the Majestics Party de Luxe HdM du Prince Party Super Partagas RyJ No.1 Punch Petit Coronations, etc. .... Don't know where you took the ring gauge info from, but it appears there has been a rounding error by some sort of backward calculation. Most of your RG39 are in actual fact RG40 (on the other hand RyJ Belvederes are missing at RG39). Edit: You may use the advanced search option of CCW which is working again: https://www.cubancigarwebsite.com/cigar/list?ringHigh=39&ringLow=22

I wonder if there's any way we can help populate that data and keep it current?
Philc2001
Well, it appears all the cremas are listed as 39 or 40 at different vendors (it's 15.87mm). It seems there is consensus to use 40 and add in the Fundadores, so I'll make the updates.

The seven 'global' brands tend not to be deleted in comparison to the other brands (okay, there are some exceptions on rare occasion, such as the H.Upmann Petit Corona and Hoyo de Monterrey du Prince this year). In regards to the big selling brands, Cohiba and Montecristo, there have been no deletions with these two marca since 1998. Thus, it'd be logical to assume that the Especiales is in a current production hiatus.

IanMcLean68
Thanks for the heads up on the Especiales guys. I was just asking Rob about availability of these recently, and the word was that he hadn't seen any since March. I guess thats one to scratch from the list for now I've seen the Cohiba Lanceros listed as a 38 gauge rather than 37. Was wondering which was correct so I can keep my own record accurate? FatPete
Hi I think I may have another one for your list. Partagas Culebras-39 ring gauge, or should that be 3x39 ring ?

Rounding error when recalculating from a metric (mm) info (e.g. the 15.87 mm as stated by Phil for a RG40 is in fact 15.875 mm = 40/64 of an inch). While all else is metric in Cuba, ring gauges are not, a historical thingy. RG info is best being taken from CCW or directly from the Habanos website (or other reliable textbooks of course). Wouldn't be too worried about the two Laguito No.1s. They have never been made in a constant flow, always seen gaps in production. Cigars which, if you are keen in, you have to grab when you see them.
IanMcLean68
The Cohiba Lanceros is listed as 38x192 on CCW, hence my confusion. Lucky for me I have a nice PSP box of these from a 24:24 some time ago :-)

Philc2001
it would be nice to see some of these come up in 24:24 a little more regularly. I've seldom seen any of the "cheap" ones, and only a few of the rest that have been on 24:24 since I've been following.
