Best regular smoke this year, for me, has been Partagas Shorts from a 50 cab stamped OPG AGO 15. I'm well into the cab and every single one has been a joy so far.

Hands down my best cigar of the year, by El Pres' parameters, was a Partagas E2 single from an AMO 16 box code. I want to say it was MAR, but I could be wrong on that. It was the best E2 I've ever had by a country mile. I bought two, and gave the second to a friend, and he agreed that it was a cut above other E2s he'd tried.

Good find! But pleeease, don't you degrade it to "poo brown". That is a classic matte 70s Porsche 911 tangerine (signal orange)

Great idea El Pres! I have had a number of excellent, highly-rated cigars in 2017. The two I chose are below, the TOS Mar 16 Diplomaticos No.2 (cinnamon, nutmeg, almond and toasted tobacco flavours) a

I am compelled to nominate the H. Upmann Connie A.  Nuts, sweet cream, and a deep richness which eludes my meager fluency with flavor descriptors.  Excellent luck with construction, to boot.  I've smo

I nominate the BBF and punch punch. Both have been so good, but so many others have too. This challenge of picking only 2 is tough!

My nominations are the H. Upmann Connie A  and RyJ Churchill.

The box of Connie A's I have is from 14 but the one I was gifted which caused me to buy was a 15 box.  It is a complex cigar in the spirit of the HUSW.

The Churchill's I have been smoking are from an MUL 6/15 box.  It is a classic Habano with notes of cherry and chocolate.  Perhaps my all time favorite.

As usual all over the board on what we like. That is what makes smoking cigars great. Good luck Pres.

H. Upmann Magnum 54

this little bugger surprised quite a bit. Right now my favorite smoke.

Montecristo 80 Anniversario

to me the best cigar to come out of Cuba since the OR Behikes. Such a stunning cigar, complex and rich.

ok this is pretty easy considering the current landscape of Habanos not producing anywhere near what was coming out of

Kuba during the 2011 - 2015 years.

  1.  Monty. #1, BUM ABR 15, Hand picked by Rob, Received 10/06/2016.  Smooth as silk, no harshness what so ever.

Construction A plus, draw just right.  If I was stuck on a desert Island this is the smoke I'd want have for the rest

of my stay.  Production cigar at the top of the heap.  If you can can this Box / code jump on it.

2.  Fonseca No.1, PSP, AGR ? ABR 15, ordered 12/01/2015, A smoke that came back from the dead.  Only after posting and lauding this smoke and how good it

was did I start having a hard time on the 24:24 attempting to buy them.  Members became aware and the cat was out of the bag and I could not fast type enough

to get my request in to (24:24).  Well enough said.

Smoke angain mild to med. Cigar packed well, draw was A plus as was construction.  Fruit, citrus maybe orange notes, super creamy, a real

delight to handle in the hand.

Note; Could this be why Habanos seems to be stepping up the Siglo line.  These two other brands are showing the star of the Habanos line

(Siglo) how it should be done.  Price point wise Fonseca No.1 and Monty. #1 are the best right now for me anyway.

Punch Punch-  Lets just say I'm happy I laid down two 50 cabs.

QDO Corona- mix of sweet  hay honey cohiba and  bready H upmann and then a touch of citrus.  Not as refined as Esplendidio to Sir Winston  But damn good and the size is perfect.

Honorable Mention

----- Fonseca no 1  amazingly consistent with great floral notes.

Gotta second the 80th anniversario.  Not my first choice on size but knocked my socks off.

These are my nominations :

H.Upmann Noella MEG NOV 15 - Smooth & creamy and each stick very consistent

RASS ETP ENE 17 - A nice blend of nuts, coffee, and cream.

My top 2 are: RACA GOA SEP 15 and Monte PE SOM ENE 16. These were not only my best individual smokes this year, but also my most consistent. After my first RACA, I went deep on them and hopefully I’ll have a box or 2 left over in a few years to see how they develop. The PE was just one of those fantastic smokes that checked all the boxes for me.

Dip 2. Not sure on code, but they were from a recent quarter box buy on 24:24 so I’m guessing 2017 or maybe 2016.

RyJ Churchill OBM Feb 17.

Both very different tasting cigars, and both very approachable ROTT.

My top pick is Partagas Lusitania - OBM ABR 2016

Granted I'm pretty new, this is one of the best smokes that I've ever had.

RASS DIC 16 OBM.

Spice, bread, sugar cane, pepper, toasted tobacco, some cream. Perfect construction. Lovely.

Monte No. 1 NOV 16 (can’t recall the factory code)

The four C’s: Cream, coffee, coco, cane sugar. Perfect construction. Enough said.

I second (or fifth, or whatever) the Lusitania, I've had several from 15-17, all great smokes.

My favorite cigar however has been the Monte Especial from 2015 that I got from the CZAR store.  Would love to see more of this fine smoke.

Unfortunately, I have not been able to partake as often as I’d like in 2017, but most of the cigars that I’ve had have been excellent.

My top 2 most memorable in the 2015 - 2017 box codes are:

1) RyJ Churchill (2015)- Maybe the best cigar I’ve had all year.  Everything you’d want in a cigar!

2) Fonseca No. 1 - This was from the blind tasting contest and my first foray into the Fonseca marca.  Lovely floral notes in the aroma and toasted marshmallow flavor that popped in and out gave this cigar a complexity that set it apart.

My top two are two of the more complex cigars I've ever smoked.

1.) Connie A - MEG FEB 16 box. Cream, cream, cream, and oh yeah copious amounts of cream. My best cigar discovery in recent years.

2.) Partagas E2 - AMO ABR 16 box. This thing moves and morphs and has so much flavor. Partagas signature profile yet so much more.

Honorable mentions...

Monte Dante's were amazing. Topes was among my top 3 for the year, but considering Rob might put together a sampler. What good is listing the Topes when it's not likely to be sourced. Vigias were also of note, but not like the two big boys above.

Happy smoking gents!

I haven't had the pleasure of smoking very many CC recently, only about 7, but of the few I have tried here are my favorite two.

1. Bolivar No. 2 Tubos; creamy, sweet, woody, and white pepper. Hopefully they pop up on 24:24. Packaged in the red tube with a smoking kills label on it.

2. Ramon Allones Club Allones EL 2015; was a gift from a CC smoking friend so I don't know the box code but I really enjoyed the cigar nice dark coffee and fruity sweetness. Got very intense in the final third and was hard for me to distinguish flavors but I think that was more due to my neophyte status then any fault of the cigar. Would love to smoke some more.
