If you've been smoking CCs awhile inevitably you will run into some sort of issue with any vendor (severely under/over humidified box, bad construction, delivery issues, payment problems, etc.). Crap happens.  What is particularly important to me is how a vendor handles a situation "when something goes wrong".  That is a key definer for me on a quality vendor.

The vendors I buy blind from I ask them to ship me their best box of the vitola I want.  Really don't care about the Marca that much.  If I want a churchill, just send me your best one...  Hasn't failed me yet.

This is actually genius. when you go into a big walk in humidor (with a great range) and have a certain cigar on your brain to buy, It's amazing the amount of times that cigar is butt ugly, and something else, is screaming class.

Great way of expanding ones horizons too. Hats off

 You're not buying blind if your vendor can tell which box is the best, meaning they inspect them…

I got a box of these with the same date from a 24:24 a little while back. Gotta say they're a little underwhelming fresh (I've had 2 from the box) , but I'm going to set them down for a nice sleep until next summer before I try another one. The wineador this box is stored in is at 70°F  and 62% RH with beads. On the other hand, I bought a box of Connie 1s and a box of Magnum 46s blind and both, ROTT, were just great, even though they'd been shipped with a 69% Boveda pack. I'd say those will age nicely, but I doubt they'll actually last long enough.

Blind meaning the buyer is not seeing the box at time of purchase.  That should've been clear early on in this thread.  I don't want any box shipped to me that has not been inspected regardless if I requested it or they recommended it...

That's not reflecting the wider consensus (at least not my view) of buying "blind". A box that has been thoroughly inspected by the vendor, according to my personal preferences and demand, is not at all bought blind (and that might even include submission of pics). A "blind buy" is anonymously ordering through an online-shop, without any - deeper - prior conversation with the seller. On top of that only comes the personal inspection and selection of sticks or boxes in a B&M, which is of course never a blind buy.

Here's another comment about this place. Take it or leave it. The 24:24 is a fun and clever cigar Mecca. But the regular store on this site is just fine and I am sure has pretty much the same product.

We have bought stuff from there for years. Boxes are open and inspected before sending.

The 24:24 is a daily cigar thrill.

This is true. I noticed that the box of RASS I purchased on cuntint had the same box code as the ones he had on 24:24. The ones I received were HQ just like the 24:24 boxes.

This thread is about people who purchase online, and can't see the box they purchase.

According to your definition the guys who pay for PSP boxes selected by Robb are buying blind…

We seeing a minimal quality image of a representative box; that is different.  I have never been offered an image of a box I am buying from any other vendor.  Solely "taking their word for it."

It's always a gamble.  Got a box of Quinteros that are great, then another of the same that are completely unsmokeable.
