I'll be staying in Cape Town for a few days in September.  The information in this forum about recommended locations is a few years old ... does anyone have any more up to date intel?  Places to go, places to shop, perhaps a tip as to what is good to buy?

Taj hotel is great. The Westin hotel at the big convention centre has a nice lounge. Other than that everywhere that has outdoor areas can generally be smoked in.

I shall have to investigate outdoor bars then, for sundowners and smokes...
