Popular Post El Presidente Posted August 24, 2017 Popular Post Posted August 24, 2017 I am Brisbane born and bred. Love the place. Great for raising a family and edumacation. As for entertainment? Well..it can get tough but a couple of days is more than doable. Pick you up on our City cat ferry system. The Brisbane river winds through much of our city and there is no better way to get around and see the city and suburbs from a unique perspective. We take the citycat and work our way through the CBD and we eventually arrive (20 minutes) at the Southbank precinct for breakfast. Great little man made beach there. it is safe to swim in as you can smell the chlorine kilometers away. Post breakfast you want to see some Kangaroos and Koalas! Back onto the ferry and off to Lone Pine Sanctuary we go. I love this place. You can really see Australia's native animals in their natural state. You loved it! off now for lunch at the Famous Breakfast Creek hotel. Good decent steak and cold XXXX local beer (that is the name of our beer....rumour is we couldn't spell BEER and hence XXXX) You arrived in August! On the way to the Czar Deck let's check out the Ekka (Royal show) and meet some of the locals! You have had your dagwood dog and picked up influenza and hepatitis C. Well worth it! Now for a cigar on the Czar deck and to catch up with a few of the local lads! Oh oh. A Brisbane storm on the way. The deck is super safe Help me clean up the damage and we are out of here. Back to your hotel. Maybe a kip, freshen up because for dinner we are going to my good mate's restaurant "Moda". Javier is a culinary genius Of course....don't come Sunday... because Brisbane is closed Sunday What a great dinner.... and we are ready to hit the town! You are super ready for a great night! Damn.....you forgot your identification and it is after 10pm. You are in breach of the local law. Di will cause a diversion and I will get you out. Bail was expensive but you will never forget your day 8 1
JohnS Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 Australian animals in their native habitat? What exactly are those kangaroos doing to each other and that kid? 1
Auspaul Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 Police picture reminded me of Mt Isa many years ago at the Barkley hotel walk out of the nightclub Landcruisers 3 metres from the door with open back doors and Police would throw you in the back if you looked like causing any trouble
asmith Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 You forgot to mention the deck at Czars where Rob can cook you a meal. 1

Was that before or after he set fire to the gas line? I still shudder to think of what would have happened to the poor deck when he did that... oh and I was worried for Rob too...
GrouchoMarx Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 On my trip through Oz (some 30 years ago ) - we did visit the Lone Pine Sanctuary, also hit the gold coast along the way. BTW: did I mention that we DROVE the entire trip. From sydney, through brisbane, townsville (farthest north we got), back down to gladstone for a heron island stay.... then back to sydney.
