Auspaul Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 Start the day at the strand for breakfast watch people fishing and think that would be good. Catch car show at strand park Go to Reef HQ aquarium start to feel hungry and wonder what turtle tastes like look at the creek next to the Aquarium and start to think we should have gone fishing Head to Kings road fish bar after feeling hungry at the aquarium Go to the museum its airconditioned and its hot and humid outside here Back to my place for some bbq food Finish the night at the casino feeding poker machines where there is 3 men for every woman thinking we should have gone fishing 3
GrouchoMarx Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 Pics remind me of when I was there - 1988 I think? Actually stayed in that casino / hotel.

mgcrunch Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 Great tour! Had me laughing within 10 seconds.
jat Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 Great pictures, brings back some memories as I used to live there 2004-2009. Where's the view from Castle Hill ?
asmith Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 I would have added a picture of the Caltex at the Bohle, which over the years as a school student on tour we stole so much stuff from. Thanks Bohle!

Thought about that and having a comment about how hard it was to drive up with all the walkers in their mumble shorts. 2 hours ago, asmith said: I would have added a picture of the Caltex at the Bohle, which over the years as a school student on tour we stole so much stuff from. If you come down under and are going to Northern Queensland now is a good time of year winter is lovely lots of outside activities when it gets to summer its too unpredictable with weather if can be stinking hot and super humid or lots or rain and cyclones. 1
jat Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 I just remembered about Race day, more particularly after the races. A line about 100 m long, guys lined up pissing against the fence with backs to the highway. And the young fillies walking bare foot with torn stockings, heels over the shoulder, hats askew and off the to the pub. All class.
