Popular Post ayepatz Posted August 20, 2017 Popular Post Posted August 20, 2017 Welcome to Glasgow, the cultural capital of Scotland! Nothing sets you up for a day of sight-seeing quite like a healthy, balanced, Scottish breakfast! Belly full, it's time to embark on a morning of touring the beautiful, historic sites of this wonderful city. The stunning architecture... ...the glorious Victorian parks... ...the impressive statuary... and, of course, and no trip to Glasgow would be complete without one, a trip to an historic shipyard. A quick liquid lunch, courtesy of one of the many fine whisky libraries in the city... ...is followed by an excursion to very heart of Glaswegian culture, an Old Firm match! The friendly banter and warm welcome of the natives is a sight to warm the heart... ...indeed, such family-friendly occasions are the lifeblood of this fine city! After an afternoon of light-hearted gladiatorial rivalry, it's time for a wee dram in one of Glasgow's elegant, historic bars... ...where the fair maidens of our glorious city are known for the warmth of their welcome! A traditional, healthy, Scottish supper rounds off the day... ...before retiring to the bosom of Glasgow's abundant 5-star accommodation. We wish you a wonderful time in our fair city! Hurry ye back! 19
PatrickEwing Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 What the hell is on top of the fries (chips)? 1

Imagine carving a slice of meat of a donkey's loins (oh so close to the nut sack) lightly marinading it in cumin and armpit sweat. Allow it to sit on a radiator for a few moments until the fat starts to weep out of it, like the tears of the culinary gods...............Boom you have Donner meat. 3
99call Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 Although when actually made by human beings, and done with care and ingredients that don't originate from the bin. Donner kebabs can be glorious
99call Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 Nice review mate, I was going to do one of Manchester, but you've pretty much already covered the main points 1

Donner kebabs can be glorious Oh yes. I know it well but only it pita form. That was far more gelatinous and perhaps rancid looking than anything I have come upon before. Nonetheless, nothing a few beers couldn't pretty up in a hurry.
almudawi Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 I studied in Scotland. This post made me laugh and brought back some good memories! I would replace the donner n chips with haggis n chips (preferably from the blue lagoon) though I lived in Greenock for a wee bit, Glasgow was always a huge upgrade ? until I moved to Edinburgh and kicked my own arse for wasting 3 years at the west coast 1
Akela3rd Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 Ooh I fancy a big dirty kebab now...sometimes it's so wrong it's right.Note: I am half Scottish and grew up 15 miles south of the border in Cumbria. And no, I didn't steal any of your sheep.Thunder & Lightening '75-'15

gweilgi Posted August 21, 2017 Posted August 21, 2017 You forgot to mention that it was the 1990 Cultural Capital of Europe! And richly deserved, too....
jat Posted August 21, 2017 Posted August 21, 2017 And you forgot to mention that wonder of a hang-over cure, IRN-BRU.
torrenfoot Posted August 21, 2017 Posted August 21, 2017 Hahaha I'm booking my flights now! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

LordAnubis Posted August 21, 2017 Posted August 21, 2017 Mate. Next time I'm around you gotta be my tour guide. Those inviting ladies look like a winner. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1
wabashcr Posted August 21, 2017 Posted August 21, 2017 Brilliant. I'll be disappointed of the prize drawing doesn't work out in your favor. 1
Fugu Posted August 21, 2017 Posted August 21, 2017 Haha, great one. Left me in stitches! In particular when after the first pic, you expect some sort of serious post (hmmm!!) - actually had that type of breakfast before. Just bacon and eggs are missing from that pic...
JohnS Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 Well, you've sold this town on me @ayepatz. I'll insist on a personal tour if I ever get to visit the UK! 1
