Remember Piggy. You have to make sure its thermoelectric, NOT the old fashioned coolers.

His collection looks a lot like yours though. Half a dozen boxes, almost entirely RE/LEs. :rotfl:

Ouch,,,  those fuzzy hands look familiar to a 'daily smoke' poster, this could be awkward.

Aww, aw, aw... Lets not go profiling a man's digits...! WELL, I hope its a man, or she has a chromosomal issue! -Piggy

One word describes it... Guru!

2 cubic foot thermoelectric cooler, 1 cubic foot powered humidifier... MAN, that is how you make plume age cigars alright!!! I am sure that thing is pumping out plume aging cigars like there is no tomorrow!

I wish I would'a found this video years ago. Now I have to start all over again!

...anyone want some poorly aged, dried up, skinny cigars with no plume, just email me! -LOL

Cigar Bunch .com  This guy did small reviews of Cubans. He is Canadian. Looks like the website is still there but no cigar reviews in several years.

You know, I am not taking a jab at the man... just for the record. I thought the 'well aged profile' fit our recent plume thread. As a smoker, I simply disagree.. I read some of his reviews. No wonder he has complaints about plugged cigars. Is it a wonder that the guy needs to buy 50+ ring cigars to get a draw?

As a humidor maker, I had a good laugh. Of course I could go on and on about cigar storage here, but again, that was not the point. I have been politely, and sometimes lesser so, battling this problem though education for as long as I can remember now.

As an irreverent cut-up, I am going to have some fun with it. Watching a guy with moldy cigars give lessons on how to store is ironically, yet tragically funny!

The internet can be such a huge source for information, and then again one for lasting mis-information.

I wish the guy well. Hopefully he has not ruined all those cigars, many of which I am sure cost a pretty penny. At one time at least, he seems to have taken our interest very seriously. As misinformation is spread from mouth to mouth, video to video, from the vendor level on down, it is a wonder that anyone has any cigars over ten years old that are not covered with mold... Perhaps he lost interest because he ruined thousands of dollars in cigars that would have been better stored in an ice chest.

The potential for losses and ruined cigars over misinformation just makes me want to scream... It is a terrible waste of resources, and a damn shame! At times, all I can do is laugh!

Just my 2 pennies!

Well if he bought all his sticks in Toronto through a LCDH we all know the onerous pricing Canada has for cigars!

if his basis for aging is to accumulate some mold,we are ALL doing it wrong!!

did not bother to inform us of the date code, time aged, nothing.

goes to prove, anyone with a video camera can be an internet expert............:cowpoop:

He's incorrect. I keep all my sticks at 75% and 80F. My sticks are covered in plume after less than a year

Ray, sorry, but I don't find this funny!

If you have to make my mouth water, then at least could you please be a bit more precise and provide exact information for others to be able to replicate:

1. "1/2 of water:rolleyes: - A 1/2 WHAT exactly of water?! 1/2 box full, 1/2 liter, half a teaspoon? ... units please (SI preferred)!

2. Hot water, cold water, demin. water, tap water?

3. And conditions please. Incubation temperature (or temp.-profile perhaps?) as well as air pressure in particular. Lid open, closed? If open, air movement? Turbulent, laminar airflow, velocity?

4. Does one have to take the glassine paper out for successful plume development or better leave in place?

5. Need to use fresh or pre-aged BBFs for a successful outcome? (any preferred grade, PE will do or HQ, PSP needed?)

6. Orientation - sticks horizontal, vertical? And if the latter, foot or heads up? Or do you implement permanent active rotation for a more even plume growth?

Other things perhaps to observe?

And - in particular for me as a collector and flipper of utmost importance - what's the price premium I can expect for my sticks after such a successful procedure?

Sorry, Piggy, while I can well understand when you prefer to be a bit privy about your particular recipe, we are used to better from you. A bit more commitment pls! (looking forward to your next vid-tutorial!). But should you prefer confidentiality, PM would be much appreciated!

Thanks,

Gooey

You know me, I make everything a lesson. Furthermore, I don't mind a little self depredation along my depredation of others!!! -LOL

Ok, that's pretty easy then....! I'll go ahead :clown2:

Great stuff as usual, Ray! :2thumbs:

Important gist here as to how quick it can develop! And even - it doesn't need a puddle of water for doing that!

Consider yourself emailed! Aged, dried and skinny with no mold/plume? Sounds like my style!
