All my full box limited,  regionals, or htf discontinueds. ...lol. Breaking up the set is hard to do!

Have a box of Cohiba Limited Edition 2011 (1966), that I haven't tried yet. A cigar that I want to smoke at a special occasion.

In my experience, you can't really go wrong with Sir Winstons. If they aren't great, it'll only be because they're fantastic.

I have a Cohiba Sublime LE (maybe 2) that I am waiting to fire up on a special occasion.  Also have a box of Winnies with my wedding anniversary date stamped. I'll probably try one on our fifth anniversary.

The first Cuban cigars I bought were a Montecriso No. 2 and a Cuaba Distinguidos (singles) while traveling abaroad.  For some reason, I've never smoked the Distinguidos.  It's now at the point where I'm keeping it for nostalgic purposes, as a reminder of the beginning of the wormhole that has become my obsession with Cuban cigars.

I'm getting married next year (going to start/revive a few posts on smoke/drink suggestions), so I may light the Cuaba at some point to celebrate.

Happy smoking,

Brody

Congratulations in advance! That would be a nice occasion to finally go for it (the Cuaba, that is).

Are the Winnie's really that good?

They are very good. I'm not that big an Upman fan so there are other Julieta #2s (Churchills) that I like better. When and where they are made is important as well. I had some '06 BCG cabinet that I think beat the shit out of '03 Winnies every day and twice on Sunday.  But, that's just me and my palette.

You may be onto something about factory differences there because I've had a lot of different vintages of Boli CG, but never one that bested a Sir Winston. Of course, that could just reflect my own taste, as well. Those two cigars are pretty 'apples and oranges', anyway.

Was just about to say something along those lines. Very different cigars. I am a big fan of both of them, but smoke more Boli CGs than Swinnies (not only for reasons of pricing... :cigar: )

For me, the Winnie is a cigar to focus on and to contemplate, the Boli Gigante is a cigar to simply enjoy. Champagne and Franciacorta, Bordeaux (or must it read Burgundy?) and Napa... if you get me. I'd be hard beaten to say which one would be the "better" cigar, or which I like more. Different cigars for different moods. Each of them has its moments. For me, the BCG fits a wider range of situations, so I more often reach for them. E.g. I happily smoke it on a summer night on the patio capping off a hearty asado, as I can smoke it with a coffee on a sunny afternoon. The Sir Winnie I tend to smoke more during the colder season and mostly indoors. Or put it that way - the Winnie speaks to your mind the Boli to your heart.

Nothing.. not a single thing. Weird right? After 10 years and a few thousand cigars, I'm convinced there isn't a stick out there that would show me something appreciably new. I buy tobacco, not scarcity. I do enjoy a great cigar like a great golf shot but don't think I'll find the holy grail down by the end of the next rainbow.

One of these days, that hole in one may show up. Me, I'm still looking for it.

It's darned expensive. Dad used to say a boat was a hole he threw money down. Chasing something new in tobacco is very similar. Check out my Noob Thread in my sig (if so inclined) for a little perspective on where I'm coming from. ?

Cheers mate!

I have a PSP box that I bought 6 months ago but can't bare to open it for at least the next couple of years

Smart choice, I found that 2 years rest makes a hell of a difference.

Boli Gigantes - wished I'd gotten some while still readily available

I have a single Behike 52 that I picked up a few months ago.  I'm saving it for a special occasion, not sure what that will be.  Looking to try Lanceros and Piramides Extra.  Very curious about HU Sir Winston.  They seem very hard to come by though...

Being a Por Larranaga fan, I've always wanted to get my hands on a Magnificos. They always look like the perfectly rolled cigar.

I've been lucky and have smoked some great stuff. This is just a peek at a Cola
