When Are A Current Months Production Released?

Hello ladies and gentlemen,

August 2017 will carry much sentimental signifance going forward. To that end, I was wondering when I should start being on the lookout for August 2017 boxes in the 24:24? I am not sure of the lag behind construction to shipment to Rob and friends.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Another option is sending an email to Rob asking if he could keep an eye out for the date code and specific box you are looking for.

Obviously, it depends. But when Ive wanted boxes from a certain date Ive found that about one year later is when I have the easiest time finding that box date. Some of the more popular cigars might be out sooner, but I suspect you have at least 9 months to start saving your pennies.

Cigars boxed in August have the benefit of enduring the best "soft crush" period available all year.  

Also, Cuban cigars boxed in August burn with a pure white ash as described in this enlightening article

I think the person said sentimental reasons. Probably marriage, new house, new kid or something like that. It's for marking the occasion. Grab a box with a code that corresponds to the important date, smoke a cigar from the box every year on the date, that type of thing.

we are seeing April just now in some of the popular lines such as Cohiba/Partagas D4.

Its usually about 2 months for specific date on ANY box to emerge. Specific boxes will have large variances in release dates however.

I dunno.  Others may correct me if I'm wrong in their experience but I think most cigars they only box a few months out of the year.  Some of the smaller staples you might find every month of the year but a HDM DC?  Less than every month of a year.  Someone correct me if they think I'm off base here
