I need a good groomsman gift for my wedding, and nothing cigar related given the preferences of my wedding party. Everything on the internet looks kinda lame. I was thinking of going with personalized folding knives, but was interested to see what ideas you guys had. Not into the personalized beer mugs either.

Almost 20 years ago, my best friend gave all the groomsmen engraved flasks.  To this day, I still use that flask and remember all the good times we had together.

4 packs of Glencairn glasses if they are a whiskey crowd. Depending on where you live, I was in a large wedding where the groom bought a skybox for a hockey game for his groomsmen gift, that was badass.

I bought my groomsmen gifts they could use rather than the crap often advertised.

For a camping friend, got him a multi-fuel camping stove that he still uses to this day when out backpacking.

I got my groomsmen Montblanc cufflinks. They're simple, elegant, and impressive; they don't cost a fortune.

And as far as I'm concerned, every man needs a proper set of quality cufflinks. Not that plastic bullshit they they give you at the tuxedo rental shops.

Also a nice scotch like Mcallan 12 yr or a nice bourbon can be found found in the $50 range.

Can't go wrong with liquor...  You can get the bottles engraved to make it extra special.

I just got married on June 3rd. Went through the same thing, didn't want the typical lame gifts. All seem to be made in China and just junk. I ended up getting everyone custom engraved yeti 30 oz tumblers. Was a huge hit because who doesnt want a yeti tumbler, but it allowed us to pre game and not get in trouble!

I don't carry a wallet, but typically a few bills in what I use as a money clip. I got the one on the right as a part of a groomsman's 'swag bag' a number of years ago... Longer than I can remember. It replaced the first that I got as a gift. I have since replaced it with the one on the left.

Why they put the clip on the knife, whether it is to be used as a money clip or not is of little importance to me. That is what I use it for. It is very handy and always there to open a box, dig out a splinter or even cut a cigar. The blade is buried and cannot snag clothes. It is one of the few things that I own that is timeless, but should not be brought to the airport or courthouse!

Perhaps these are popular trinkets now... I am beyond the age where my friends are getting married, second divorce, maybe...! Mine was certainly out of the ordinary when I got my first one.

Cheers!

First of all, congrats. I went through the same thing for my wedding a few weeks ago. All of my groomsmen are different and are interested in different things. I ended up doing a box filled with a bunch of largely impractical items and it was quite a hit. 456e93c849ed17f5410a9544524d9385.jpg
Each one got something similar to this. The bow tie and socks were for them to wear for the wedding, but the rest were random items I came up with.

I got my groomsmen all a nice leather belt, with a 3oz. flask as the belt buckle. We filled them all up with whiskey before the ceremony and they were a big hit throughout the wedding. If you wanted to personalize them a bit could engrave their names/initials, but I didn't have the time.

I got all my groomsman 1L kegs they can age cocktails in with their names engraved. My buddies use them for manhattens and negronis.

I was given a set of cufflinks the last time I was a best man
All the groomsmen were given a set that matched their personality

Mine were the Partagas ones that Rob has mentioned
I've worn them to 5 or 6 formal event since and they take pride of place on my dresser

Black Ray-Ban aviators.  I got all my groomsmen these and I was surprised by how many of the guys continue to wear them.  Some I thought wouldn't even like them.

i got my wedding party dresser valets with engraved initials on them.  the best man's wife loves it because all of his collar stays go in there rather than all over the dresser.  also had a spot for cuff link storage.

Spyderco Dragonfly pocket knife. Available in different handle materials. Priced at from $55 US to a couple hundred depending on what you choose. I'd go with VG-10 steel, which is a good stainless steel but not impossible for non 'knife knuts' to sharpen. I'd also recommend straight edge rather than serrated. - - This knife is appropriate just about anywhere. Its small & very light, but the design enables it to handle & work like a much larger knife. Every guy needs a decent pocket knife IMO !

My college roommate gave us a gold tie tack with a diamond stud back in the mid 1980's . He perished on 9/11 at Cantor Fitzgerald. Needless to say, it's a very special reminder of him plus it never goes out of style and, to this day, I use it for special occasions.
