LeafLover Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 PIggybacking on Ray's (Pigfish) now infamous snake collector high school mate, have you ever gone to school with someone who became famous/infamous? In high school- a girl I knew became a somewhat well known porn actress? Forgot her name. I was shocked. My daughter goes to school with Kendrick Lamar's sister (OK that's a stretch). He attended her graduation just recently. 1
stang Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 My graduation class was 30. 1 guy went on to win a gold metal in high jump at the Olympics and another played 10 years in the NFL Sent from my LG-H910 using Tapatalk
luv2fly Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 One guy I went to High School with became a comedian. Was on Letterman. His career seems to be going ok. Not the star power of some other big names but he is funny.
zappaFREAK Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 I have a few. In little league I was not a great player. I ended up on a team with BJ Surhoff who was a few years younger than me. He played in the majors for 18 years and played in an all star game!! Christopher Atkins of Blue Lagoon fame went to my high school.
whatsinmybag Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 Not that I know of. I mean we had a great skateboarder that was sponsored but that's about all I know of.However, here in the desert there was an army chick that ate a camel spider last week and it got 1 million views on YouTube in like 2 days so she's kinda famous now. Well now you have to post the video. Don't leave us hanging!
Popular Post stogieluver Posted July 8, 2017 Popular Post Posted July 8, 2017 I played high school football with Walter Payton. 12
Booyaa Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 Used to at ball with a couple of guys that got to the NBA and played against Dirk Nowitzki when he played for Germany in the junior euros. Got a few friends who are comedians and actors in the UK and are on TV quite a bit. 1
Ken Gargett Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 played against wally lewis when i was at school. granted it was cricket. from my state school, which oddly for brisbane, was in an area where aussie rules ruled, we had a couple of guys go on to play in the AFL or whatever they called it then. gary shaw - he was one of two really good players and went on to play for collingwood during the 80s and then the bears. the other guy i'm not sure what he did - lost touch - though he was the most naturally talented player you could imagine - tallest guy in the class, and the fastest and and the coordination one could only dream about. and both were really nice guys.

I used to love watching him get pounded into the paddock, thankfully he got injured one too many times and had to give it up. If you can't tell I didn't like him he wasn't particularly nice to me. clearly a waratah!
cigarsandcoffee Posted July 9, 2017 Posted July 9, 2017 In high school I played basketball against Chris Webber who went on to be a NBA star. That is my claim to fame.Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk 2

dominattorney Posted July 9, 2017 Posted July 9, 2017 In college, I once raided the liquor cabinet of James o Keefe, the dude behind all those gotcha videos about the American political left. He was a real tool even back then

He attended her graduation just recently. We had a girl like that in our high school. She was 2 years below my grade. Went by the name Selena Silver. Another girl (Anna Choy) in the same year went on to be an actress. One of my classmates had a role in the movie, "Hammers Over The Anvil". Gave him a bit of stick back then, due to the "self-discovery" scene he was in. When my old man came to Australia in the 60s, he went to school with Kamahl. 1
El Hoze Posted July 9, 2017 Posted July 9, 2017 Ivanka Trump was two years under me in high school, though I guess she was somewhat "famous" already. This is as close to talking politics as I will get, but my impression of her since high school was always that she turned out reasonably well given her circumstances. 2
Booyaa Posted July 9, 2017 Posted July 9, 2017 Oh yeah, and Bret McKenzie from Flight of the Conchords/LOTR fame is my cousin (sort of).
swimcory Posted July 9, 2017 Posted July 9, 2017 Growing up I swam against a lot of the Olympics trials swimmers for the 2008 Olympics. Most famous of them would be Ricky Berens who swam 3rd in the notorious 4 x 200 free relay in Beijing where Phelps lead off.
Webbo Posted July 9, 2017 Posted July 9, 2017 Was a year or two younger than a couple of the guys from Def Leppard at school. Nice blokes, sadly one of them no longer with us. 3
madandana Posted July 9, 2017 Posted July 9, 2017 Funny thing. Dana and I grew up in a small town. 63 in my class. She was a year younger. Anyhow, one of her class mates is currently married to Eddie Van Halen. For the life of us we can't remember her and we knew everyone in the whole school. 1

Winchester21 Posted July 10, 2017 Posted July 10, 2017 My high school was one of the best basketball schools in the southeast back in the 70s I went to school with Bobby Jones-76ers and Walter Davis - Phoenix Suns. They won a number of state championships. Watching them was like magic. The other players were like a bunch of school kids trying to play against pros.
