Anyone been smoking recent release Don Alejandros? I know they are on the discontinued list and I have enjoyed them in the past. I kinda want to stock up where ever I can, but if the quality hasn't been any good I might just have to let that dream die.

Is the box code OMR JUN 15 by any chance? I have that but haven't tried any yet

Rob & Ken reviewed one a few months ago. Didn't catch the box code but I'm sure it was fairly recent production. Review was positive:

Such a shame that this cigar is on the chopping block

I picked up a half-box earlier this year. I had one in late February and shared another with my brother-in-law, then I had one last week and shared with @Fuzz. Cocoa/Chocolate, some leather and raisin sweetness, yes, it's a shame these are deleted as they stand alone for its profile in relation to other (sadly dwindling) regular production double corona options. I can say that my VR Don Alejandros were both a little strong in the last quarter, but they are youthful and I plan to enjoy them in the medium to long-term (i.e. next 2 to 5 years).

As Rob said in the video, it was the only cigar he knows of that sales didn't increase once it was slated for deletion! There should be enough stock at least into 2018, but it eventually will be gone in the near future.

It is a shame it's been cut as I agree--it occupies a unique spot among DCs. I think this one was really a case of poor sales. It was a real sales dog by all accounts.
