every now and then i come across a cigar that zaps the moisture out of my mouth. I would almost say it is along the lines of a tannin type of feeling.   What exactly causes that, and is there a way to correct the cigar from doing it?

Oh, that's easy. Biotene!  Haven't you seen the commercials ?! ;)

Obviously joking as rum is only going to dry you out more.

I'm almost 20 years into this so I often forget being a beginner but do remember having a dry/cotton mouth feeling occasionally. I really think it comes down to being dehydrated. I also remember hearing there are certain strains of tobaccos that tend to cause dry mouth more than others, but these are not Cuban tobaccos.

There are members who have been thru tasting sessions with sample cigars rolled from the different leaves.  Inwould love to hear them chime in on if more of a certain leaf will cause that to happen????

is your cigar using Sumatra tobacco?

Sumatra dries my mouth out often, has a sharp dustiness or ashy taste.

I sometimes get a dry mouth after my eighth cigar of the day.
