898's never fail, nice roll too!! all mine from various dates, are a bit lumpy bumpy

PS, I'm not sure but I think the 'de' traveling on an upwards slant on the ring band, means these should be from between 2002-2008?  again I'm not sure

Well spotted. Missing the outer cardboard box on these so the band is the best clue.

My benefactor made his last purchases around 2002-2003 so this must be the closest I get.

Cohiba Corona Especiale paired with lots of wine...

Tight draw but not impossible.

Full throttle with grass, honey and cedar.

Ended with an almond twist. Nice!

Perfect construction. Perfect draw. Thick white smoke.

All way through a very pleasant and elegant smoke. Cedar, light chocolate, dried fruit.

Punch Punch...

Another fuzzy stick up for smoking.

IMG_1407.thumb.JPG.9f17e3afabd406a42d726bc7713e9e40.JPG

Definitely milder than a fresh PP.

Lots of dried fruit. Mostly raisins. Hints of lemon and black tea.

Overall nice, but I suspect they have passed their prime with a few years.

This one is for you @99call...

ERDMGDE

The box contains some funny details:

Some variations in size. Fatty vs Skinny:

Looks like a piece of string in one cigar but I think it's just tobacco...

IMG_1415.thumb.JPG.5136e37432ad483e2204eb3cfcf42c1e.JPG

Going with "fatty".

1/3 Mild start. Good draw. Thick smoke. Hay. Dry roasted nuts. Some hints of green pepper emerging.

2/3 Mild to medium. More pepper and nuts.

3/3 Turned medium with mouth loads of dry nuts. Way stronger than the beginning but very pleasant. Nice finish!

Very elegant 1:45 smoke.

Might be a while.

Back to work tomorrow after 4 weeks vacation and the weather is turning crap. Doesn´t look good for any bigger size smoking the next couple of days.

But never say never...

Por Larrañaga Panetelas

Small powerhouse with roasted chestnuts and dark chocolate. Impressive how much taste there is after all these years. Feels like a perfect pair with coffee.

This is a fantastic thread!  Really awesome that you are smoking them as you got them with all the notes.  I thought it was going to be a box or two but holy smokes I had to scroll down for a long time on the opening post.

Spent a good two hours yesterday brushing off the mold from all sticks with a soft paintbrush. Very good result in the end.

Today I´m rewarding myself with a.....

Monarch

Draw is just on the spot.

Opened up a bit anonymous, but then it was almonds covered in smooth cream all the way. Last third also offered a nice floral touch.

A mild but very enjoyable smoke. :2thumbs:
