El Presidente Posted May 5, 2017 Posted May 5, 2017 I am sure many of us are in the same situation. Great playlists but sometimes you want to seek out something new but life demands get in the way from finding the requisite time So this weekend. Post up some "new" music you are listening to. Post up a you-tube vid in your post in order that we can "sample' and see if it is in our realm. All members who post up a description and vid link go into a draw for a little three pack sampler drawn 9am local time Tuesday. Looking forward to experiencing some new tunes 1
irratebass Posted May 5, 2017 Posted May 5, 2017 Here's two for ya Pres, by Me First And The Gimme Gimmes .....punk rockers who put a twist on popular songs, give it a listen, and just try not to fall in love with Crazy For Youhttps://www.pastemagazine.com/articles/2017/04/watch-the-gimme-gimmes-cover-madonna-barry-manilow.htmlSent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk 1
Popular Post Jeremy Festa Posted May 5, 2017 Popular Post Posted May 5, 2017 So bloody new it's from this morning! Paul Dempsey, one of my all-time favourite artists, covering, young up and comers, Middle Kids' 'Edge of Town' for "Like a Version" this morning on Triple J. Absolutely brilliant. 5
dominattorney Posted May 5, 2017 Posted May 5, 2017 My old pal Jerry, doing an awesome job, as always, covering Bob Dylan. When music is done right, everything old is new again. 3
OZCUBAN Posted May 5, 2017 Posted May 5, 2017 Not new music by any means but good chill out romantic jazz overtones brilliant album 2
Popular Post PapaDisco Posted May 5, 2017 Popular Post Posted May 5, 2017 OK, so this one is going to be a bit of an outlier for this party crowd, but it here it is; David Oistrakh (1908-1974) Soviet era (born in Ukraine) violinist. I didn't realize all of these old videos were out there until my teacher pointed me to them this week (to correct my terrible bow grip, and now that I've said this y'all are going to be watching his right hand the entire video too! ). Remarkable playing, remarkable dedication to the music itself, almost completely lacking in the physicalhistrionics so common today. This one is the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto in D Major 5
Popular Post BuzzArd Posted May 5, 2017 Popular Post Posted May 5, 2017 Been absolutely knocked out by Miles lately... And I have to say Pablo Casals' interpretations of Bach's suites for cello have been incredibly soothing. 6
skalls Posted May 5, 2017 Posted May 5, 2017 Daft punk or something from the 80s. Just got home from guardians of the Galaxy 2 so that soundtrack put me in the mood for something classic lol. 1
Islandboy Posted May 5, 2017 Posted May 5, 2017 If you haven’t heard this song, or this live version, your ears are in for a treat. The silly video loop does it no justice.
Dimmers Posted May 5, 2017 Posted May 5, 2017 + the new Spoon album several weeks ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D6KFBFg5q1Y 1

DAmn.. you beat me to it. I've been listening to that version, and everything I can get my ears on from Middle Kids, for the past hour.. love it.
marty922 Posted May 5, 2017 Posted May 5, 2017 Better post my own offering - don't let the cartoony video put you off 2
MrGlass Posted May 5, 2017 Posted May 5, 2017 I've been playing a lot of Assassin's Creed IV lately: 2
marty922 Posted May 5, 2017 Posted May 5, 2017 Great acoustic version of this instrumental - excuse the 'hipster-ishness' of the video 2
aj60s Posted May 5, 2017 Posted May 5, 2017 Always a pleasure listening to Lisa Hannigan, such a beautiful voice. 3
