Melbourne Food & Drink Must Do's

I will be arriving in Melbourne this Sunday with a client for a 3 night stay in the heart of th CBD for business. Wondering if any Melbournians (is that a word?) can recommend some must eat restaurants and bars to visit. My client isn't a cigar smoker but I'm going to try and talk him into a drink and smoke at Siglo or RA Lounge one of the nights. He's a whisky lover and likes hole in the wall restaurants (read: not expensive), so bonus if you can recommend a good whisky bar and/or a place that serves authentic Australian fare.
