Ouch!

saw the topic and thought we'd be discussing fakes. Not an actual smoked salmon stick!

This is not how to land a 100+ pound Tarpon, but sound advice!

To be fair to the urinal cake fella, some of my cigars smell like cat piss (had my cat for 5 years, trust me), although they smoke just fine.

Well for people who dont smoke cigars, some sticks do smell like manure to them so its not surprising.

Is it strange the banter between Ken and Rob often makes me forget I'm an old bitter bigot in a young mans body?

Ken, I've had this experience in both Cuban and non Cuban cigars where the smell and taste reminded me of fish or squid that you would use as bait. It was t over powering or discussing, however, I was able to detect a slight fishy character. Weird.. I have no idea what could have caused this.

interesting and good to know such things are out there. although bait?

mine was not bait. rather it was very much freshly grilled fish.

Yes it's weird, but hard to explain. Fresh squid smell or just a seafood element. I've only experienced this three or four times. One time was with a tatuaje cigar.
