Does it share any commonalities with it's sibling? The H. Upmann Connossieur B is a 5 7/8x 54 vitola. The cigar itself is packaged in 25 count slide top boxes. It is the second release in the H.Upmann brand for La Casa Del Habano and Habnao Specialist retailers. In 2013, the H. Upmann Connossieur A was released to these select retailers measuring 5 1/2 x 52 which is an excellent cigar.

It hasn't been released yet, so a little hard to tell ;)

The 2016 LCDH releases (HdM Elegantes, Punch 48) are just now hitting retailers, so it's reasonable to assume the 2017s will be one year out, or starting to trickle in around Mar/Apr 2018. It will be awhile before anyone sees any Connie B, even a pre-release. The pre-release HdM Elegantes didn't start appearing until Q3 2016, so I'd assume a similar time frame.

In the meantime, enjoy the very high quality Connie A before any risk of cannibalization occurs!

^ It looks like they misspelled "Connoisseur" again.  I'm starting to wonder if they do this with the original release on purpose.  Spelling aside, I'm a big fan of Upmann and I assume the Connoisseur B will not disappoint in terms of flavor.  However, at a ring gauge of 52 the Connie A was already bordering on the edge of my comfort zone.  At a ring gauge of 54 the Connie B is just too damn big.

Anything from the Festival doesn't count. All for show. All the current year's announced releases are handed out there, not to be seen again in any form for 6 months. The Monte 1935s and the new QdO releases were being handed out as well, and also won't be available any time soon.

The Cohiba Medio Siglo and the HU Mag 54 were also handed out at the 2016 Festival, not to be seen until Q4 2016.

Yeah, me too… They obviously have a problem with the word… In 2007 I got a cab of Connoisseur No.1 that was stamped "Connossieur"…

The spellchecker was out on the porch having a cigar and playing dominoes when they went to press.

Had one of these last night at the 20th year anniversary party for the LCDH in the HK Sheraton. It was glorious, full body, amazingly smooth for a new cigar the whole way through, bit stronger in the nutty characteristics as far as upmann go. I will be buying a box for sure.

i haven’t tried an A yet to compare, but have some in my humidor so excited to try it and see the differences!

For me, it tasted identical to the much more reasonably priced Connie A. Excellent cigar.

I'll be sticking with the cheaper and 52 RG Connie A. The saving grace of the Connie A is that it is a 52 RG.

Well, my only complaint about the Connie A was that the band simply wasn't big enough, so I'm glad they took care of that problem...

Don't give them any ideas--let's hope they never realize the HS band is missing from the Connie A. Another plus for the Connie A in my book. They can take their 54 RG and their HS band and stick it.

Tried one this week.  Tight Draw and needs some time.  Conn A is > .

Very much a brother of the Connie A. Started out a bit milder but with good flavors and strength ramped up in the second half. Excellent construction and burn. Got a bit sour in the final inch but these are very fresh, so even 6 months might wipe that out. I smoked it down pretty far.
I would say there's no reason to deviate from the Connie A, the least of which is the larger size of the Connie B. I think the Connie A is a bit more consistent from start to finish and a bit more "present". That being said, this was a very good cigar. Just speaks to how good the Connie A is. Scored it a 93.

I smoke one if each on the same day a while back and totally agree with your assessment of how they compare. I basically had said the same thing after having them both.

Smoked my first Connie B yesterday and thought it was very good. Had minor wonky burn issues that I would put down to age but, flavor was quite enjoyable. No bitterness to speak of. Had great company and conversation which just made it all the better.

Gave a first go at Connie B today, had nice expectations for this beautiful vitola, shiny wrapper, great smell. Came from half a box (LTO OCT 20) I grabbed at a BM back in Nov 21, freshly opened then, so I figured I'd give it a try.

Opened on promising pastry notes, then herbaceous into hay to basically smoking hot air, "wait wait let's go back to the cake part" I thought.

Great construction, cigar was supple conserved at 65/65, smoked a tad fast, I usually get 90min out of similar vitolas, went in 75 min at usual pace. Disappointing overall, hope the rest of the box is better, could turn into expensive fire-starters otherwise 😅.

I was expecting a good smoke since HU is in my wheelhouse... To be continued.

Cheers folks
