Knilas Posted March 18, 2017 Posted March 18, 2017 Was posed the question the other day: If you were afforded the opportunity to live at a certain age though out eternity, what age would it be? Well.. After a long pause and some reflection, I said 40. (I'm 51 now) For me it was the perfect age. Not too old, not too young. I was in the prime of my life at 40. Still strong... Not many aches and pains. Everything was still working well. I looked good, felt good, and life was good. For me, it was the perfect age to be alive. What say you? Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
Colt45 Posted March 18, 2017 Posted March 18, 2017 It sounds like you mean from a purely physical standpoint - not going back to relive an era, or with the benefit of acquired knowledge. So, I guess I'd say thirty to where I'm at now 1

stogieluver Posted March 18, 2017 Posted March 18, 2017 I would say 40, also. I'm 61 now, and have too many aches and pains, annoying afflictions, but I must say I do appreciate the wisdom that has come with age. 3
rhcolbert Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 17-18. I was over the teenage BS, had a job working in a cold storage warehouse making great money for my age. No bills really. Just tons of new life experiences, I could afford my needs and wants and everything was exciting. 1
joeruby Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 Mid 20's for me, at my peak physically, all was ahead of me and was exciting. Sure, made a few errors with a few regrets but I remember having this huge desire to see the world learn about everything and experience it all. Never have felt like that again, and I'm 56.. 1
OZCUBAN Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 I agree with all that has been said for me I would have to say 35-40 about ambiguous I know could quite nail it down I am 53 @the min ? 1
gweilgi Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 Roundabout 40 sounds about right. It's young enough to still have drive and aspirations, not old enough yet to have given up on major dreams, mature enough to appreciate good things and meaningful relationships, young enough to still get that youthful excitement about discovering good things and meaningful relationships... OK, enough. This thread is about to depress me... Alex, 50 and heading fast for Grumpy Old Man status. 1

Engineer99 Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 For me it would be 25-27 when I was at my peak of health. I'm 6' and at the time weighed about 150 with a 29 inch waist. I still have some pants from that time and they look like a teenage girl's pair of jeans. I can't believe I ever fit in them... I was like a taller Bruce Lee, all muscle and sinew with an endless motor and could do almost anything I wanted to physically. I remember when some friends and I went to the store on a beer run and he forgot his keys. He was on the second floor of the building and had a balcony, so I gathered myself, jumped, grabbed the railing that was at least ten feet up, and got in through the sliding door. Those were the days my friend.
Popular Post ReelMan Posted March 19, 2017 Popular Post Posted March 19, 2017 I am 66 and would not change it for the world. I love my life. I loved my 20's, abused my 30's, abhorred my 40's and decided to live large in my 50's. I'm in better shape now than when I was 35, I have more wisdom than when I was 50 and I have found that the simple pleasures that I blew off in my earlier years are now decidedly worth the time . There may be snow on the roof, but there is a fire in the furnace........... 5

Akela3rd Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 This is all getting a bit moody. Why shouldn't your perfect age be in the future? I'm 50, maybe 51+ is the perfect age for eternity - I'm building up to it cos it's getting better day by day. Stupid through 20s, drunk through 30s, rebuilt through 40s, now loving life reasonably content, solvent, fit and healthy. I know what I like, know what I think and if I don't like it or change my mind, fuc* it, I can. Thunder & Lightening '75-'15 1
Nico Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 I'm only 26 so I don't really have a lot of options to choose from. But I guess I would pick the age 7-9. I didn't worry about any bills, about the future or anything really. I had my friends, we played with our lego, played cop and thief and chased each other endlessly through the neighborhood. Or we just hanged and talked about life. It was a simple carefree life. Skickat från min iPhone med Tapatalk 1

If The Lord let's me see the 28th of this month I'll be 60, myself. And you talk about aches and pains, OOOHHHHHH LORD, lemme tell ya... it makes one not fear the approach of death so much... 2
Philc2001 Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 Interesting discussion. The physical aspects change when you age, for sure, but it's not something that should hold you back. Physically you can work on it and get in shape. I believe I feel I am in better shape today then 27 years ago, half my current age. As much fun as it is to fantasize about immortality, or turning back time, the fact is time is fleeting so make the best of it.

If i stopped at whatever age I wouldn't know the joys, the pains and all that the road leads to and beyond... Physically things change but if you have up, you must have down .. I look at it as another challenge.. Rob
perkinke Posted March 20, 2017 Posted March 20, 2017 Physically? 28 or so but otherwise life is too good right now to want to go backwards. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

MIKA27 Posted March 20, 2017 Posted March 20, 2017 I'd say 40 (And that's my age now). I've jumped through loads of lifes hurdles, good and bad, experienced highs and lows. I'm a dad now, I have learnt what real friendships are and what is not, I have learnt about myself and can reflect back where I could have done things better. Life is always about learning and I am sure there is more to understand but I have a solid grasp of who I am, where I am going and content with who and what I have in my life. It's a great age all-round so this is the age I'd prefer to be. 2

luv2fly Posted March 20, 2017 Posted March 20, 2017 For physical considerations I would have to say 30. In great shape and felt good. As for the quality of my life and how blessed I am now, I would say 44, my current age. I can always get back into shape but I would not trade my current life for all the Cuban Davidoff and Dunhill in the world (or anything else for that matter)! 3

Williamos Posted March 22, 2017 Posted March 22, 2017 Fellas this is an interesting thread. Gotta say I haven't got an actually time on this. I feel pretty happy in the here and now and naturally don't look back but look ahead.I've been to a couple of high school reunions and met some old classmates who I hadn't seen for 20 years. High school was the best years of their lives. Fair enough, but I reckon there's a lot to be said for not peaking too early, indeed never peaking at all. That said, I sorely miss The recuperative powers I had with drinking in my 20sSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1
