If you mean the area out front where we exited, I assumed it was a no smoking area, as they were serving meals there earlier in the night. The patrons out front may not have been aware of your assumptions ... When I arrived at just before 7, cigarettes were being smoked quite enthusiastically at every table. But then, I thought it was quite pleasant to have that whole little area to ourselves. When do we get the chance to have our own cigar section these days? 1

JohnS Posted February 23, 2017 Posted February 23, 2017 I think that area is under cover and has meals. Either side is the state legislated 4 metre distance to the smoking area. Both of the smoking areas have large umbrella-tarpaulin covering. That area where we exited at the front definitely has ashtrays and people smoking. That was the case when I went there to see a friend's acoustic show and also when I arrived on Wednesday night. When I rang the Bald Rock Hotel a few weeks ago I was told there was 3 x 4 seated tables and 3 x 6 seated tables for the smoking area. Normally there's distinctive signs that indicate no eating and smoking. These signs seem mandatory since the state government changed the law in July 2015 and I've often seen them in establishments. I didn't notice them on the night...but they may have been there. I did notice the ashtrays.

In order to comply with Safety & Health regulations, would said tosser be required to wear high-vis clothing, a hard hat, safety boots and goggles?

Thanks for the edifying discussion on world Rugby (Union) and putting up with my lament over Australian Rugby at the present time. We look forward to the next get together. No worries ... I am always happy to talk Rugby (Union). Who knows, we may run into each other at a 'Tahs match one of these days... 1

Apart from the hard hat, I have all the other necessary equipment. I even keep a spare hi-vis vest in the boot of my car! 1
