kuma Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 For the money I've found a very good product from Barbados called "Plantation Barbados Rum .750" $24.99 Aged in bourbon casks then shipped off to France finishing in cognac casks. Love the stuff and the price point is well worth it. 1
mrwhitt Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 I'm a big fan of Plantation too. I typically drink the 20th anniversary XO. I'm told it's a mix of 16 & 18 year old rum. 1
TheFullMontecristo Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 if you like that one, you will love the Plantation XO 20th Anniversary. 2
Baldy Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 I agree, good rum. $80+ in Alberta Canada if you can find it.
Boss Hog Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 Another big fan of the Plantation XO 20th Anniversary. An absolute must in the rum rotation.
nvnvnv Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 Just had a sip of some 20th and saw this thread right after! Seriously great rum.
madandana Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 Thanks for the heads up. Will have to pick up a bottle and give it a try.
jschrader510 Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 Concur with everyone on the Plantation XO 20th. Ron Zacapa 23 is also pretty good.
Raginaharjar Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 The Plantation XO kicks ass. If u can find it, try the Opthimus 18.
kuma Posted January 26, 2017 Author Posted January 26, 2017 Thanks for the heads up on the XO. I think it is well priced here in the states. I will add that to my rum rotation. Just have to make sure the wifey does not use it up for cooking. Also been drinking some 4 year old sochu (sweet potato saki) like it better than the rice saki.
