awkwardPause Posted January 20, 2017 Posted January 20, 2017 Sorry to hear that man. Don't know your circumstances but it's never easy and it can be incredibly defeating at the time. Keep your head up though - there's a great community here to help with that. Good luck on the hunt and here's to an even better future! Smoke a good one today. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk 1
Drguano Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 My natural response is to say I am sorry to hear that you lost your job. Was it one you enjoyed or are you 'happy' to be moving on. I hate looking for work so I generally stay in a job until forces beyond my control take over. What is/was your line of work? 2
luv2fly Posted January 21, 2017 Author Posted January 21, 2017 Thank you all! It will be OK. I have faith that what was is only what will be! Thanks guys!!!! 3

Not my first rodeo. I did enjoy it at one time. Long story but thank you for your thoughts. 2
archosaur Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 Sorry to hear it! I lost my job eight years ago, to the day. This is an opportunity, not a setback...take what you can from it, and continue on your path. Optimism will see you through. Cheers! 2
torsion Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 Sorry to hear this brother-in my 20 years working I've been through this 3 times and each time the opportunities got better and better!New challenges ahead my friend as @oliverdst says - make use of and enjoy that time off! ???? 4

I think what is upsetting when this happens is that it plays on your self-worth...as in, you may find you ask yourself, "aren't I valued in this corporation? etc" I love your posts. I reckon take time to reflect on what you value in yourself and bring that to the table in your next job. Be assertive! 2
madandana Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 Sorry to hear. Keep your head up, you'll end up better in the long run. 2
Popular Post BarryNY Posted January 21, 2017 Popular Post Posted January 21, 2017 You must maintain a positive attitude..You and only you.... A very long time ago I was out of work going on about 6 months and the wife says "how can you be so happy and positive all the time"...and I told her "if I'm not going to remain positive I'm done"...very soon after I got the job of a lifetime that changed my destiny in many ways.... Keep the faith and stay positive. Attitude is everything. 5
Popular Post luv2fly Posted January 21, 2017 Author Popular Post Posted January 21, 2017 Thanks to you all! My better half has been a rock! I appreciate all of your positive thoughts. Not in a good place right now but I will make it through. 5
tigger Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 I've been RIFFED, downsized, reorged , whatever the buzzword is at the time, a couple of times in my working life. It's never pleasant (though the last time it happened, I ended up spending most of the summer at the beach), but it works out. Hang in there!
MooseAMuffin Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 Sorry to hear that. I hope you find something that you love. Good luck in your hunt.
Habanos2000 Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 Often, fate can be your friend. Stay positive and best of luck!
Frozen North Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 I'm sure you'll bounce back BOTL. I lost a job I really loved in 1992. It was the BEST thing that ever happened to me. I've been self employed now for 25 years, and love it. Keep your chin up.
Popular Post HarveyBoulevard Posted January 21, 2017 Popular Post Posted January 21, 2017 Somebody PM me this man's address. Sounds like a man in need of a serious bombing. The only way to stop me is to move...cause someone knows where you live...and they will spill the beans. 6
planetary Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 Many of us have been there. May the force be with you, and lead you toward even greater things. In the meantime -- enjoy some cigars!
nathankwok Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 I am sorry to hear that. Think positive and treat it as a little holiday. I am sure your next job will be better than the old one! Cheers!
boopdeep Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 I lost a job nearly 10 years ago and it sucked for months until the next opportunity came up, and it set my life on a completely different path for the better. I took a few days off and then treated finding another job like a job, 6-10 hours a day. I am confident things will work out. Likewise, someone PM me luv2fly's address so I can give him something to do during his relaxation time!
Sean3 Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 Hang tough and try not to let stress overtake you. Oh, and smoke a great cigar!
