Popular Post CaptainQuintero
It's mid-Winter today but the sun is hot; one of those perfect crisp Winter days. In light of the recent deletion revelations I'm lighting up my very last Partagas Tres Petit Corona. Similar to the Shorts but in my opinion more earthy and sweet. No wind today so soft flame relaxing light up is the way forward. Starting off the cigar seems a bit flat, if anything a little hot and bad tempered, has the little guy expired? A few minutes in and almost in one was the cigar kicks in and the old flavours appear. Leather, Partagas spice and a touch of sweetness. No cream to speak of which is usually one of the main elements in aged Partagas and in this example in particular. Burn and construction are spot on, sometimes the last of the box tends to be a bit tatty and has been passed over again and again but this box has been a great example all round. It's pretty hard to split a cigar of this size into thirds but the progression is noticeable; the early sweetness fades away and earthiness comes to the fore and combines with rich leather and white pepper. Getting near the end the little guy starts to get darker and darker, earth dominating all other flavours and finally starting to become a little hot and grubby. Great little cigar that has passed into history now 92/100
PigFish
Great review my friend, these cigars are missed (by me). I always took the TPC over the Short any day. I think that the TPC was more limited in production and a far better cigar. Damn, I wish I had more of them. Thinking of the 15 missed cigar thread, and reading your review, this might have made my list. A lot of cigars up in smoke, that is for sure. Thanks for sharing! -R ...oh and I might add, great pic and lighter! Cheers!
CaptainQuintero
Thanks Ray it's the last of a box that I split with a good friend that he found in the middle of our great cigar hung a few years ago as the greats were vanishing. I even managed to find a box of Partagas seleccion privada#1 based on your passion for them, popped the ribbon in your honour!
ChanceSchmerr
Great review mate, one of many Perla/TPCs that were pulled before their time. I've only had one box of these but I prefer them to the Shorts as well.

It is the culmination and aggregation of many boxes mixed up and put to rest in one box. Ultimately, some of the best cigars that I have smoked have come from the 90's Partagas family. All discontinued now. I have one unbroken cab of Partagas Petit Coronas left. Man, do I miss those as well. I am not getting any younger, perhaps I should break into it! Great review mate! -Ray
Smallclub
These '98 Partagas TPC were not only good but very well priced as well…

TheMonk
Never had one of these, but if it's even sweeter then the Shorts, I'd definitely enjoy it. Well done!
BuzzArd
Thanks for the insight. Haven't ever burned the last of a loved box before, but, knowing me it would be awfully hard to do so.... Good stuff!
