godpheonix
how the hell does HSA cut a cigar like Bolivar Corona Gigantes and keep 5 or 6 regular production Cuaba's in play? i see no deletion for Cuaba in there at all and that amazes me more than the concrete evidence of Gravitional waves which revealed that Black holes were in fact real consequentially! i'm stunned!!! In the mid 2000's, two tobacconists in Paris told me they stopped ordering them from Coprova, as the quality was really poor.
Popular Post PigFish
More problems associated with a monopoly, a monopoly mindset and the understanding that brands are nothing but a band and a box. Tabacuba used to represent brands as best they could, I do believe that they have given up on them. There will be brand fights over those not owned by an HSA partner in the US someday. I hope they lose them all. And this is good precedent. They are not representing the brands that they stole, they are abandoning them, and the classic cigars that made the brands great brands. Yes, it is another handful of smaller cigars. I think it was @Brandon that put it back on the smoker, and I agree with him somewhat. As long as you are happy with the cigar as a luxury image, one $30 cigar a week, instead of one $3 cigar a day... that is what you will get!!! Perhaps 2017 will be the last year I buy Habanos. I will quit cigar smoking before I become one of the Beanie Baby generation smokers. No double banded dildo for me on the 'green.' I have enough good cigars to last my life, I am coming to realize that and have focused the passion that I once put into Cuban cigars, now into cigar 'husbandry.' Someday some of you will wake up and see that you have been cheated out of an opportunity that many seasoned smokers have had. That opportunity was to 'mature with cigars.' I don't mean this as, grow old with one cigar, but to have your tastes develop and discover that there is a range of cigars that maybe outside the majority to become attracted to. There will only be the majority choice, and that may just be the yearly Beanie Baby cigars left to fight over. What a pitiful way to end the Cuban cigar tradition, chasing the ex-pat companies as they have more marketing savvy, can pay their bills and their farmers, and have taken Cuban pride in cigar making with them, largely. Startups, people with no cigar experience seem to have better management than Tabacuba... This is what happens when those brought up through a system to hate private enterprise, are turned to CEOs because they have 'party' tenure and pretend to run a company... Tabacuba has no vision, it is as dead as the political system that owns it. Dear Tabacuba, You are lost in a global marketplace and you deserve to die at the hand of creative destruction. Hopefully a competent group can take your place, if not, I could care less! Your rotten socio-economic system creates and fosters failures and black markets. That is all that you will ever succeed at, failure. You seem to plant less and less tobacco. You have problems every year, one excuse after another. You cannot manage to roll a different size and make a box for it and release it on time. You represent failure! That is the new Cuban tobacco tradition. FU Tabacuba. Your friend, Piggy!
wade1979
HUPC is a real head scratcher. Would have thought this was a strong global seller based on price point and value.

rckymtn22
Here is a concept HSA, if you are not selling many Julieta No.2's (BCG) maybe they are too long and need to be reduced in length as not many people have 2+ hours to relax. I would love the same profile and size but in a shorter length.
LGC
HUPC is a real head scratcher. Would have thought this was a strong global seller based on price point and value. It really makes no difference if the cigar currently sells... when the resources can go towards a petit robusto at twice the price (which many smokers happily stand in line for)
Dave001
noo say it aint so to the HUPC!!! one of my favorite sticks guess I will have to be adding a bunch more boxes (another wineador purchase to stock that one cigar!!)
CaptainQuintero
I mean what do you replace the hupc with? The 2015 releases still haven't hit the shelves! If they were going to trim why not remove the tubed corona minor/major and keep the higher quality stick? It's just baffling, and when you bring in the issues Cuba has with making/releasing cigars it just blows your mind. I had thought enough people had banged some sense into HSA that they had put the deletion programme on pause. They don't actually deserve the custom do they? Never mind the hardwork people around the world like Rob and crew, blog writers, fans who make up the shortfall of passion that HSA don't give out

This is the first deletion list that has hit me hard. The BCG, the HUPC, and the du Prince are all currently in my rotation as they have been fantastic. I was looking forward to seeing how these developed over the next few years and picking up more boxes once mine ran low. I was even thinking yesterday that my next box should be the Bolivar #1 tubos. This sucks I don't even know if I want to stock up now, or just try to find another cigar I like (that will eventually be discontinued) Yes that sucks indeed and good taste you have. Most unfortunate. BTW - what else do you like? I want to know so that I know what to stock up on before it's discontinued next year.

topdiesel
Sorry for all the HUPC lovers out there (seems to be the most dis contention on this thread). I am deeply saddened that there will no longer be a Churchill or Corona in the Bolivar lineup. As a super fanboy of the Bolivar Tubos lineup, it is a crushing blow and I will continue to stock up on 2 & 3 as the writing is on the wall. I guess they make more money whoring out the bolivar name out to all the regionals. I just picked up a box of Du Prince's and a 50 Cab of Punch DC. Two more nails in the 50 cab coffin and cause for concern to the Punch fans.
