Hey Gents.

I will be in California for a few days before our Mexican cruise and then a few days afterwards.  We're staying near Anaheim (Dec 20-23), Cruising (Dec 23-30), and staying near Universal from Dec 30-Jan 3.  Now, I know my cruise ship has a cigar bar (WOOT!), but I'm curious if there are any decent places to enjoy a cigar near where I'm staying.  I will have a car during the first leg, but it's Uber for the second leg as there is lots to do in the area (walk of fame, universal, blah blah blah).

And, yes, I could always enjoy a cigar on the patio of the Airbnb but I prefer to smoke in good company :).  Any help is welcome!  Thanks in advance!

I highly recommend downloading the free "wheretosmoke" app for your phone. I travel a lot and it's been really helpful.

Maxamar Ultimate Cigars in Orange is a great shop.  It's the B&M to smallbatchcigars.com, they have a great selection, and Andrew is a great guy. As for near Hollywood area, your best bet is V-Cut which is nice and relaxed, though if you want an adult beverage I'd recommend Ubering to Buena Vista Cigar Club in Beverly Hills.

Enjoy your time in beautiful LA!

Oh, almost forgot about La Descarga - awesome place to go with the missus for a good rum, some dancing and a fancier night out. They do have a dress code so be sure to dress the part.

Thanks gents.  I will be checking out the app and doing some research on the places mentioned.  La Descarga sounds fun :)

I met a bunch of the Cali guys a while back in Tustin.  There is a decent restaurant there that allowed smoking on the heated patio. The Winery in Tustin.

LA you want to hit up Buena Vista in Beverly Hills.

We just had a small FOH smoke the other night there and had a great time.  Maybe we can put together a smoke session while you're in town.  Send me a PM.

I moved to OC a few years ago from Chicago & find the lounges mostly sub standard compared to just about everywhere else east. I think it is mostly due to weather that is conducive to smoking just about anywhere outside. I've found Maxamar to have a good NC selection & great people. The Winery is a great place to have a good steak & has a cigar friendly outdoor area. Can't speak to LA.

@DaBigDog is a great BOTL.  A most generous and hospitable guy who hosts many herfs for the Vancouver boys and some of us stragglers further out.  If you have the time, I'm sure you'll enjoy having a stick or two with him.

I'll second that, always is generous in hosting the group when I'm in Vancouver for a visit.

They let you bring your own smokes in?  Would like to go to the next FOH smoke, can you PM the info?  Thank you.
