SaintMickey®
Might not be for the living room (my study maybe) or when "guests" are over but if you have a man cave or are a garage smoker... Anyone done anything like this?
irratebass
Very interesting, I spent $150 on a smoke eater dammit!!!!!
KoreanCowboy
This works for about 30-40 minutes depending on how heavy the smoke is. Me and a buddy have tried this. Works amazingly but not for long. And you have to buy the allergen filters which cost $15-$20 so for 1 cigar you spend $30-$40. You can leave the filter on but the air flow will literally come to a complete halt within an hour with just 2 of us smoking.

helix
Hepa for the particulate in the smoke is fine but for odour Activated Charcoal is required to capture VOC 's .

helix
A combo of hepa and AC on that setup would make a good difference in a room for an evening of smoking.

I've seen some ozone machines that say to only run when space unoccupied and allow space to clear/air out before being in room?ThxSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Philc2001
Inside the house the problem I have is the air-return on my AC pulls air from every room in the house, and distributes it out to the rest of the house via the air exchanger. Each air return has a filter on it, but it doesn't stop the smoke smell from being circulated throughout the house. My garage is not cooled, which makes it useless as a smoking lounge down here in S. Florida. At least on my patio I have ceiling fans, natural air movement, and a view over my pool.

I have read that it is unhealthy to hang out in the room while the ionizer is running. You might be fine for now but be careful. Nothing wrong with running it after you are done though.

Well I did turn the ionizer off while I was out there last night, and just turned the other part on, then the ionizer on after I was finished until this morning......I did it that way, because it was quite strong.....I turned on the heater and machine for a couple of hours to get it ready before I started smoking....then walked out and was like holy hell! The boy complained this morning about the smell as well...I told him it's either that or cigar smoke smell in the house heh

That is finally why I bought and set up the winter smoking lounge on the back patio. No smoke in either the house or garage now.

Just be careful of the heater and don't catch the thing on fire!
