SaintMickey® Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 My experience in Toronto was so darn frustrating last week...All those beautiful cigars but priced out of reach...e.g. A box of Bolivar Royal Coronas was about $780 after conversion to USD and 13% tax. Curious to know which countries you have had the most luck purchasing Cuban Cigars? Selection/Quality & Reasonable Prices... Got some trips planned to Germany and wonder which countries I can hop over to without going all the way to Gibraltar!
danny Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 From what I've heard, Spain is apparently a great place. I'm sure those that can actually vouch for this will chime in though. 1
rxavier1979 Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 Germany works. But outside of Cuba, Shopping online duty free is your least expensive option.

Smallclub Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 You'll find the best prices in France and Spain. But keep in mind that in these countries there are no "cigar shops" — only "Bureaux de Tabacs" and "Estancos", controlled by their respective Ministry of Finances. France is a bit cheaper but Spain gets plenty of fancy special packagings that can't be found elsewhere. If you want to spend some time in opulent shops reminiscent of the 19th century, (antique furniture, varnished wood, etc.) target Switzerland, Netherlands and Germany, plus the UK where the prices are … errr… high… 1

Drguano Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 Dude! You are in Atlanta! Delta has non-stops to Havana. If you want the best prices this side of the Internet, go to source. And you'll have the time of your life. 2

YES I need to figure out when the next Cuba trip is from/with some of the more experienced folks here on FOH. I will be in Europe so I'm doing that too! Just checked Delta...pretty cheap.
tomhsu Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 Turkey does not belong to Europe, and in the light of recent events it is moving away from it more and more ... just saying…Geographically, parts of Turkey do belong to Europe (Istanbul for, example). Politically, I agree Gesendet von iPad mit Tapatalk

Got some trips planned to Germany and wonder which countries I can hop over to without going all the way to Gibraltar! Coming from a Canadian we have some of the worst CC prices around. It's why I buy from here most often, even though duty is a killer. For some of my favorite smokes Monte 2, RASS it would cost me $950 and $700 respectively after taxes. 1

LLC Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 Which city?I've only been to Barcelona and it was quite a few years ago. Prices were very good and my understanding is it is still one of the best countries in Europe to buy cigars. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
sikfrayme Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 I was in Spain this past July, and was able to get some aged goodies in Barcelona. Also, its a very smoker friendly city. Have a seat at one of the many restaurants on Las Ramblas and enjoy. Just thinking about Spain has me itching to visit again soon. 2
Dimmers Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 Dont forget the magical Loompaland aka Andorra, where Oompa-Loompas have hidden away mastercases of aged and wondrous Habanos 2
Cerebrum Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 As a german I can recommend Germany. A lots of very friendly an good stocked La Casa del Habanos - especially in Stuttgart, Saarbrücken, Berlin and Düsseldorf. Prices are what they are. And they are the same everywhere in germany due to the tax stamp. I would also add the Benelux Countries to the list - beautiful Casas in the Neatherlands, Belgium and Luxemburg. And Switzerland for sure. Imoh No big difference price-wise. Maybe Switzerland can but must not be cheaper. Barcelona is beautiful for cigars tooGesendet von meinem D6603 mit Tapatalk 1

Don't know why you were frustrated after we told you almost exactly what the pricing and smoking condition in Nanny state Canada is. Most any place in Europe is better. Andorra, Spain and Italy is pretty good. GB not so much. As others have said, instead of taking the long way around to pay more, take the short route. There's a place South of the US that have great weather, culture, cheap rum, beach, and apparently cigars. 1

BrightonCorgi Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 For selection and quality I would go (in order) Switzerland, UK, Spain, Netherlands, or Italy. For price, I would go Andorra, Spain, or Switzerland.

BrightonCorgi Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 The best selection of CC's I have ever seen was in Singapore... Jimmy at the Regent Hotel has like every cigar ever made...

"Frustrated" as anyone would be...so many great cigars but just too overpriced to purchase which I already knew from going to Canada for 15 years and hearing on FOH. I know about Cuba LOL but I'm traveling to Germany. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
