With Rob away until next week I have this weekend free....what to do what to do :pooped:

Well the family are going out to dinner for my Dad's 84th birthday to an Italian restaurant on Saturday night which will keep him happy. As long as there is Spaghetti Marinara or Calamari in front of him he is content. With my mum as long as the plate is overflowing with food she is happy, we have stopped taking mum and  dad to restaurants who serve their  meals on big plates where upon the meal is a small serving. As they used to ask the waiter "did the chef forget to put the rest of the meal on the plate" or "you could have put it on a smaller plate so it doesn't look lost on the plate" just to name a few. My sisters and myself gave up so now we go to a restaurant that we know serves big meals :hungry:

The rest of the weekend is relaxing and spending some time with my son as he has been away for the last week with work also...it has been very quiet at home and my house is so clean.

What plans have you got for the weekend ?

Have a great weekend to all

I've just come home from 3.5 weeks away at a gold mine in Central WA
Normally I'd say I'm taking it easy and decompressing a bit but I somehow agreed to help a good mate move house all weekend instead

Hopefully he puts a few beers on after the job is finished so the weekend isn't a total write off

Smoking cigars of course and an Enduro indoor race on Saturday night...Did hear about a so-called good Italian restaurant near me. We shall see. Being I cook this stuff each Sunday that keeps my Italian heritage tradition alive and well! ;)

Been kind of a cruddy week or so. My cousin passed away last week so when I got back home from working out of town, I had to fly to Chicago that Saturday morning. I saw my wife for 12 hours in the last two weeks. I am looking forward to spending some quality time with her and smoking a few Vegas Robainas.

I'm going to the gun range Saturday morning to get my weekly therapy in then watching lots of football.  Sunday I'm heading home to help the Lions out with their Lutefisk feed.  Cooked 250 pounds of that stuff last year.  Probably going to do the same this year.

Then I work 1 day next week and then thanksgiving break.

I'm writing reports and tending to the garden. I hope next weekend is a cracker (as Rob would say)!

On the bright side, I hope to catch some Cricket and Rugby over the internet.

I'm going to work ANOTHER 16 hours ..............  Life has become monotonous.

Someone has to pay for all these habanos   ;)

Currently landscaping the backyard and now that the pros have left, the wife and I have a ton of clean-up, stone throwing and plant prep this weekend. I will be lucky if I can walk on Monday. The good thing is I will be able to sit in my new fire pit and enjoy a cigar in the warmth.

Sorry to hear, @Hurltim

Me?  Brake job on the '70 Beetle.  Master cylinder failed 4 years ago and it's been parked since. Daughter cracked up in my wife's Corolla last Tuesday and for some reason wife wants something to drive while it's being repaired....  :rotfl:

So, as per usual I'll play mechanic all weekend.

4 day trip to Asia   I plan to smoke cigars and drink bourbon to ease the pain.   Back Tuesday night though, and then I will launch into making my 'famous' 'overnight' rolls for Thanksgiving (don't know why they're 'overnight', they actually take 2 days to make! :P )

Lutefisk feed? That's awesome. I've never had lutefisk, but I dig those kind of events. Here in the Bay Area, a popular variation this time of year is the crab feed. For around $40-50, you can gorge on Dungeness Crab Ciopinno (or sometimes cold marinated) until you're stuffed or they run out. They usually put out a couple of cheap bottles of wine at each table, and have a limited, but full bar. We usually go to the ones that are put on by Portuguese fraternal organizations, but schools and other groups also do them. They're an awful lot of fun.

Not a whole lot planned for this weekend. I'll probably go to lunch with my grandparents on Saturday. Need to go to the barber and get my hair did. I also have a RyJ Churchill that's begging to be smoked, so I'll probably fire that one up. Watch some basketball and maybe a bit of football. Raiders don't play until Monday night. Should be a nice, mellow weekend.

Going to a dinner party on Saturday.  This basically means that I will start drinking at 3 in the afternoon rather than typical 8 or 9 in the evening when meeting with my friends.

I spent last weekend camping with my Cub Scouts and worked stupidly long hours all week. So, me and the Mrs have planned to go out on a lunch date together because we've haven't seen each other all week. After that, well, as we've got the house to ourselves....

Last weekend before a new baby arrives...

I'm going to sit outside in the pool & spa and smoke cigars from dawn 'till dusk for two days.  I will get a tv close so I can watch college football starting at 6:00am with College GameDay and finish with the late game ending at midnight.

...then I don't get to do that for a long long time.

8 hour annual work meeting tmrw, dinner with employees at House of Blues, hopefully cigars with the ones that think I'm friends with Fidel bc of my stash of Cubans, then retire to my room for an evening drunk.
