GrouchoMarx Posted November 16, 2016 Posted November 16, 2016 Hey all, With wifie and I heading to "head office" in a few weeks, I'm wondering if its possible to visit the factory. I understand they don't have "tours" for groups, but I'm hoping the two of us might gain entry for a quick tour (and purchase of course). Any advice and/or contact information appreciated! Cheers
LLC Posted November 16, 2016 Posted November 16, 2016 El Laguito doesn't do public tours anymore but I believe La Corona does. It was discussed recently but I can't be sure of the details. Someone else will chime in or try seeing if a search gets you any recent info. Have fun on your trip!Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1
Jimmy_jack Posted November 16, 2016 Posted November 16, 2016 My Monty 2 box is MEG ...since it was mentioned.
GrouchoMarx Posted November 16, 2016 Author Posted November 16, 2016 OK - so what does "MEG" mean? I know its a factory code of some sort - but I'm told they constantly change so that we don't know what factory the sticks are made in? (I'm probably repeating something on another thread - but thought I'd ask)
JohnS Posted November 16, 2016 Posted November 16, 2016 MEG has replaced LUB this year as the main H.Upmann box code.
PoohBore Posted November 26, 2016 Posted November 26, 2016 La corona does the tours, a fair bit shorter than the tour I went on 5 years ago. The best bit is they asked if their was a cigar smoker in our group and I was the only one. So, I sat in the middle of the rollers and had a lesson on making a cigar of my choice, size and blend. Then it was lit and I smoked it sat at a rolling table. Amazing experience but no photos allowed Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 3
El Presidente Posted November 26, 2016 Posted November 26, 2016 Nothing is impossible. But El Laguito is going through some management changes currently. You can rock up and throw the dice. 20% chance. I would go to La Corona. 1
Corylax18 Posted November 26, 2016 Posted November 26, 2016 Myself and a number of other FOHers did the La corona Tour when in Havana. They are open for tours from 9 am to 1 pm week days. It was packed full the day I went, so the views weren't great. You can also look at the museum they have at the partagas factory/divan.
