Weathers turning around in Dubai finally which means I finally get to smoke outdoors without breaking out in a sweat that is usually reserved for a Sauna.

Picked up the last from a box of P2s.I have a soft spot for the P2. It was the first CC I ever smoked (I disregard the dry and tasteless RyJ Tubo no 1 I had on the roof of my Hostel after my last University Exam as a random mistake) and it hooked me to the hobby. I tend to run through them and wonder a lot why they don’t get the same amount of love from others. Will try to write this review during the smoke and see how it goes.

Appearance : Reddish Hue to this, something like you would find on a RyJ - Excellent construction and perfect cap on the end.

Combustion - Perfect. generally have an issue with larger gauge cigars which tend to skew to one end after passing the middle of last third mark. This one was perfect though and kept going without any touch-ups till the end.

Flavour Profile - The taste is very Partagas - Spicy, but not an overpowering spice like NCs. First two thirds stick firmly to a mild to medium mark for me which is what I like. The initial Centimeter or so has a spicy kick through the nose and a surprising amount of Nicotine hit - I'm glad it tapers of within the first 10 minutes else it might have become overpowering. Slight headrush. Not something I usually pick up in the first third with the P2.

One thing I love with the P2 is letting the smoke out the nose. It tingles with its spice but has a sweetness that is enjoyable. This specimen does not disappoint. I pick up tastes/aromas of ginger cookies and paprika. The first third significantly mellowed down since the initial kick, and I can taste notes of strong Cocoa (Lindt 85% ? ) for the most part - sweet, with an underlying bitterness.

In the second third; the smoke has a "Rich" mouthfeel, and feels like a meal in its own right so far. I tend to always keep the larger ring gauges as smokes after a large dinner - maybe that's a mental thing but without one it always feels like a task to run through a Pyramide.Sweet and bitter Cocoa still dominates and I keep getting the ginger cookie fleeting in and out.

I feel the strength of the P2 ramping up again as a I approach the end of the 2nd third.  I also note that the construction of the stick is par excellence, I've only tapped it twice since lighting it a little over an hour into it. Speaking of time, I feel the P2 heating up a little bit and feeling heat on my tongue from the smoke, smoking too fast.

I let it sit for a while I take a Phone call. Relighting and purging, the smoke is back to being the rich and cool feeling I talked about a while ago. The flavour has also changed to a slightly sweeter cocoa and the P2 has definitely fallen more to sweet rather than savory 5 minutes in.still enjoyable at this point. This is something I usually notice with the Partagas brands - The interplay within Sweet/Salty and meaty.

I approach the band and the smoke has heated up again- I know I'm smoking too fast but it’s getting quite late, and the flavour has just become a little one dimensional and the nicotine has kicked in. Calling it a day on this one - not the best of the box - and maybe I am tired from the long day but I just dont feel like nubbing this one. The risk you take with a long cigar.

Overall - Excellent first 2/3 and a mediocre last third. It's a pity this was the last of the box and I had hoped it would have been more memorable but gives me a reason to go and re-stock.
