subport Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 I fairly think that Romeo y Julieta was my first CC smoked. A tubos No.2 or No.3 - no clue. But still ahhh… it brings back some memories. I do remember one specific cigar. Smoked in a 20 floors tower building in Reykjavik. Top floor. Pure concrete, few pipes on the ceiling, no walls ready, nothing ready but a smoke detector… Yes, an unfinished construction building… 700m2 without any separation. No one else in the building, only me. Smoke detector covered for few hours. Latex gloves solved it perfectly. Snow and amazing view to the city… ah damn that was an experience… The marca was forgotten for almost a decade, when I started to smoke RyJ again. Thank God I did. But this is going to be an Ex. No.4. review. First cigar from the bottom raw. Picked up the ugliest one. Kinda light (lighter than the rest) in colour, not much of sheen or character. Anyway its a cigar I have no doubt about that. Also few visible but not deep veins and couple of teeth on the appearance. 7mm punch. Good draw. Slightly on the loose side but nothing to worry about. Kinda woody, cedary tobacco on the cold draw. I have a good feeling…but lets just wait till I introduce it to my torch lighter. Done. The first puff is a stranger. Savoury wine it is. Never had that in any cigar. Ever. Then goes back to his own way. Slight pepper and spice on the retrohale. Cherry comes in straight. Nice, very nice. Then it goes to cherry and cherry and fruitiness. Hints of nuttiness comes for a moment then dissapears. Cherry cream…kinda coffee, milk coffee there but hard to say cuz Im drinking a double expresso. Ashed it accidently by dropping the cigar back to the ashtray, ehh. Im tired. No damage… Getting into the second third the cherry goes darker. The milk coffee becoming black. Leather shows up and the balance is perfect. Starts canoeing a bit, touch up needed. My alarm rings - telling me I have only 5 minutes left till 24:72 FoH was already opened but couple of cmd+r follows. You guys know how it is done. No need to explain it here, haha. Back to the cigar (after email sent to Di). Well… the second third is just keep going on this way. These 3 main things are coming and going and pretty much sums up this part. Last third has still plenty of cherry ups and downs. Lovely. Dark and tasty. Some nuts. (Diana confirms) Happy me. Woody, nutty, cherry, leathery - oh thats why I love this cigar. It is cherry driven all the way, a very good example what this cigar can put on the table. Sweeet. Went slow as usual, almost 2 hrs. Really, really good. ( day before yesterday smoked an RyJ churchill - get ready for that review as well. And lately there is no weekend without a cazadores - hopefully it will come too) Thanks for your attention. Have a nice weekend all. P. (sorry for the bad pics) 1
