RickHendeson Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 Anybody have any information on these? Origin, is this distributor packaging, etc.?
Bohn007 Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 They were a special edition for the distributor that covers Belgium and that area. Not sure if the tobacco is any different than the usual vitola but it's a special box.
Fshaw Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 It is exclusive to the Spanish market, it is a release for both magicos (out now) and genios, coming out soon. The sticks are at least 5 years old based on what it says in the little box insert.I'll also add they are really nice looking boxes.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

On LCDH owner purchased a number of them and was reselling them.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I stand corrected. Found this info on them., " Tabacalera's tribute to Cohiba on your anniversary is the release of the Special Edition Magicos Maduro 5 (Ring Gauge 52 x 115 mm layer and aged five years), in boxes of 15 Cigars. This cigar has an additional ageing once twisted of at least five years, giving it a slightly darker layer and a more homogeneous and consistent linked."
oliverdst Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 Collector/flipper (pretty) box and rings. Same cigar. 3
IPORTER Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 Most of the estancos have them available around Barcelona area. The prersentation is beautiful and despite having had a box in my hand a couple of times now I have resisted the temptation to buy. Don't know how long I can hold off before finally pulling the trigger..........

And probably not for serious collectors either, as these Altadis releases are usually just a way of getting rid of old stock - they normally don't even have a boxcode, which means stock comes from all sorts of different boxes (and ages). 3

RickHendeson Posted October 19, 2016 Author Posted October 19, 2016 Thanks for the info guys. This is why I love this place.
Cigar King Vietnam Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 I think that is not authentic cigar box, because Habanos has never introduced them!

It is a release for the Spanish market. I saw them everywhere in Spain when I was there in November. I didn't go for it.

Altadis, the Spanish distributor, has put an extra band on, reboxed them and decided to charge a bit extra for the privilege. 1
canadianbeaver Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 Not just a bit, the same extra collectible effort as Behike, plus there are 15, not 10. Also, this is commemorative for the 50th anniversary of Cohiba. These are Genios Maduros, hey, just the same for us I know. But for anyone else? Friggin incredible. I bought these a month ago in Madrid and brought them back to Canada. They are going deep in the humi like Behike, just for fun.
Lotusguy Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 What are they selling for?I've seen the Genios box go for 480 euros and the Magicos box for 420 euros. Not sure what the official Spanish price is. 2
canadianbeaver Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 Thanks Claus, you made me realize I made a typo. Mine are Genios and that is about what I paid I believe. Yup, about one billion Canadian $ 1

canadianbeaver Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 Just to keep the world in perspective with "anything goes". Canadian B&M is charging $950 USD, even though we live in CANADA, for a box CORO. That is $1250 Canadian doll hairs. This means it is probably the same in Ireland at my lovely shop I visited last June. Whateva!
cigcars Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 When Cohiba first introduced this maduro line of their smokes; Magicos, Genios, Secretos...I didn't find them very flavorful or enjoyable at all. But that's just me. Maybe you all might have found them okay. And in looking at the close up of these new ones for the Spanish market, I do have to say - those are some raggedy-ass looking wrappers 1

Altadis release many special packagings for Spain and sometimes for France… all perfectly authentic, without having to be "introduced" by HSA since they're not available for other markets… 1
