Joker Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 We've had unusually cold / wet weather for this time of year, but today the sun is shining so time to sit outside & enjoy a smoke & beer Dark wrapper, firm construction Good draw, with slight resistance Off the bat, strong sweet spice that lingers on the palette, a little stronger than I'm use to Good volume of smoke 2/3 Spice has mellowed, and flavour has turned into a salty caramel. Reminds me of salted caramel ice cream- one of my favourites Slight uneven burn, which I'll attribute to lighting up outside in windy conditions Touch up and burn is all good White dots forming on the ash, which I believe is due to mineral composition in the leaf Amazed at the volume of smoke from this stick 3/3 Flavours have melded beautifully, smooth smoke overall, right to the end Goes well with the Monteith Black Beer, with its dark choc / caramel flavours Very enjoyable 50min smoke As per my previous cabs, these will only get better with age Rate it a 92 ? 1
westg Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 Nice review Tony... might just fire one up myself
JohnS Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 Yes Tony, a nice review. I like my Por Larranagas with a little oxidization on the bands, like on yours. I can't help but feel they they've begun to settle when they are like this.
