Montecristo Grand Edmundo LE 2010: URG DIC 10: Monte review comp 2016

When you know for sure after 1-3 puffs: this is going to be something special. When the first minute puts a huge smile on your face and your head is just spinning all around. wow. It has the factor.

 

This is my last box of Grand Edmundo. I only have 4 left in there. When I bought them I smoked more big (or at least bigger) RG cigars. This is not what I am going after these days.However 52 is still not crazy big. And it has the length to it 150mm. It is balanced and feels all right in my hand. 

 

7mm punch cut. No need anything bigger. Perfect draw. Perfect construction. This cigar is actually sexy, very sexy.

 

Chocolate and some nuts, very smooth, mouth filling, thick smoke. Just wow straight in my face. Cocoa and chocolate is giving me the core and in the background there is this very silky and delicious something. Cannot name it. It has most definitely more components to it but  all melted together. Slight woody taste. I will not be able to write this review. I just can´t split my mind. I just need to work hard to find words and…no way. I need my attention to the cigar… still in the first third and add a very light earthiness to it. Beautiful and creamy.

 

 

The second third is where the real fun begins. It gets darker and fuller. At this point is medium body but full of flavours. Full of delicious sweet and dark earthy stuff. The chocolate is more cocoa than anything else. Some spice shows up (clove and nutmeg) I always liked this cigar. But cannot be better than it is. This particular stick is the best of the best example. Oh my God! 

 

Entering the last third I use my guillotine to open it up. It helps. It´s not really floral but has some sort of vegetal taste to it. Mixed it with the core which did not changed but got darker and more pronounced. The smoke output is unreal. Heavy ,thick, mouthwatering. Some saltiness on my lips. The spice is getting in the foreground while cocoa is still there. Leather. I don´t want this to end. And want another box or two…ain´t gonna happen. Oh well…I will finish that four soon, very soon. Got no reason to wait…

 

Absolutely stunning. The best cigar I smoked this month but probably the best in this year. 97p

It worth a try. I liked it always as I said, but this particular stick was something different. Ya know when all the stars align. It might be just me tonight. Might have set the bar too high. Dont want you to be over excited then experience something nowhere close to it...

The GE suited me better than the Sublimes and the 520 though I haven't had more than a few 520s. A great cigar.

The GE is the first cigar I really went "deep" on and I'm glad I did. Still one of my all time favorite cigars I've tried. It's a special occasion cigar now to smoke with friends who are knowledgeable about cigars and can appreciate it. I actually think it's very comparable to the sublime and 520, but I prefer the smaller (if you can call 52 small) ring guage.
