Akela3rd Posted September 25, 2016 Posted September 25, 2016 Just wondering if anyone has experience of Gibraltar's Duty Free.I have a friend who regularly goes out there (to study bats, strangely enough) and he's offered to do some muling for me as he's become aware of my cigar habit. He's shown me a photo he took of their humidors last time he was out there - the pricing is good, the selection reasonable (if a little Montecristo heavy), but I was thinking about quality. I've had duds from duty free before - hello, Geneva! - and would like a bit of info before taking a punt. He also said there's a rather good looking b&m in the main town, the name of which escapes me.Thanks.Sent from my HTC One M8s using Tapatalk
AlohaStyle Posted September 25, 2016 Posted September 25, 2016 Don't waste time at the airport, go to the LCDH shop in town.
Akela3rd Posted September 25, 2016 Author Posted September 25, 2016 Stagnetto...? Maybe!Yup, (Googled it) - any insights Piggy?
PigFish Posted September 25, 2016 Posted September 25, 2016 I don't really feel comfortable discussing this on my friends site (FoH), who is also a vendor (coincidentally)... -LOL My email is in my profile, and I will be happy to discuss this offline if you wish. It will likely be tomorrow... Cheers! -P
Akela3rd Posted September 25, 2016 Author Posted September 25, 2016 Perfectly understandable. Thanks. 1
luv2fly Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 Good shop and good folks. Sent a friend there a bit back when he was in country. Brought back a stellar box for us.
Danimalia Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 I really enjoyed a day I spent in Gibraltar in the middle of a trip to Spain. Very cool place. Aggressive monkeys, though. Sorry, no input on the cigar scene, though.
Akela3rd Posted September 26, 2016 Author Posted September 26, 2016 They're apes. That's why they get annoyed when you call them monkeys!Sent from my HTC One M8s using Tapatalk 1

Smoke6 Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 Great shop, convenient location--heck just about everything in Gibraltar is convenient due to its size. They will treat you like a king there. Picked up a stellar box of HdM EL pyramids back in '03. Just smoked the last one, pity! And, YES, the apes are pretty aggressive. Took my son's Mars bar before he could even take a bite. Wish I had a pic of the look on his face. Priceless

Jager223 Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 +3 on that, if you don't see what you want in the shop in town then ask as they might have it in the warehouse. Also, be aware that there are a number of Stagnetto's shops, but only one is an LCDH.
smokeyjoe01 Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 I've had several boxes from Stagnettos and they're A1, buy with confidence.
