mnmlst Posted September 24, 2016 Posted September 24, 2016 Greetings, All. Glad to have finally found FOH. I’ve been dabbling in CC’s for a couple years now and finally spent some time going through some of the forum posts and finally signing up here. I’ve already learned a bit and am looking forward to putting a few boxes away into a private locker with our estimable host (soon, I hope, as it sounds like a great way to stop me from going through them before they hit their sweet spot). Had my first cuban on my honeymoon in Anguilla many years ago. A Monte #1. Brought it back to our room and my wife was disgusted and kicked me out to the patio. Then that sweet aroma reached her and she came over and sat on my lap, enjoying the aroma as much as I enjoyed smoking it and demanded I get another one the next night. Back in the states I tried a variety of NC’s only to be disappointed over and over and eventually gave up. Despite frequent trips overseas, I neglected to pick up a cigar again for quite some time. Then one birthday several years ago I decided to treat myself to an Opus X. What a great cigar that was. Not quite the Monte #1 from years earlier, but quite satisfying. It became my birthday ritual to go to my B&M and pick up an Opus X. Then a couple years ago I picked up an Opus X Lost City Robusto and enjoyed it with a Blandy’s 1996 Madiera and got hooked (if you can, you really should try that pairing). Not long after I started seeking out CC’s online. I’ve been sourcing my CC’s from some expensive outlets, which has precluded me from enjoying to the extent I would like. I’ve also had some so-so experiences and am slowly becoming more educated. Looking forward to expanding my knowledge and experience with you all here at FOH.
