Not to sound rude, but you're kidding, right?

A simple search for "aging" turns up first-page results such as these:

Oh Smallclub... Where has the French hospitality gone ?   ?

When I found there were forums dedicated to habanos on the internet, nearly 20 years ago, I spent about 2 weeks searching threads related to the questions I wanted to ask, before daring to start a thread. On several forums there was a rule/sticky inviting new members to use the "search" function before posting any question…

Easy SmallClub!  I enjoy your up front posts and I know that you are trying to help.  Things get lost in translation.  Lets welcome our OP.  The links are great information!  Please look at those.

That said, welcome and you might want to find a hard hat!!!:rotfl:

To answer the original question . . . IMHO:

Lots of CC's that smoke very well, right off the truck (ROTT): Bolivar Corona Grande, Punch Punch, Partagas Lusitania (for Gawd's Sake!), Partagas D4, Hoyo Epi 2, and on and on.  It varies from year to year of course, but you shouldn't be shy about dipping into a new box after a 30 day rest (from the trials of travel) just to see what's what.  The only fresh cigars from Cuban that have been total losers for me have been Bolivar Royal Coronas and Cohiba Robustos . . . and pretty much everyone else disagrees with me. :P

Ideally, you'll let them all get 1-5 years on them.  That seems to improve just about all Cubans, and some will really shine with serious aging, but you'll find so many that are smokeable young.  They might get a bit of newbie harshness and nip in the final third, but that just lets you know to leave the rest of the box be for a bit longer.

As an old Usenet member your post has reminded me of September 1993. or as some of us still call it Eternal September.
Every year, in September, we had an influx of new users. It would generally only take a month or so for the new users to learn
how to behave in the Usenet environment, or get bored, and leave it to the "nerds"
In 1993 however, AOL started offering Usenet to their customers, and in the end, we were so overwhelmed that we simply gave up.
At first it was annoying, then it was infuriating, and in the end it was sad. Now, all of these years later, it just makes me feel really really old.

In honor let this post be dated Sep, 8424, 1993 CEST

You Max, NSX and Smallclub! If you put as much effort into being dicks, as you could have put into helping this new guy out, the forum would be even better than it is.

I was merely suggesting him to use the search function and i didn't mean to be rude or anything.

and slightly (only slightly) more seriously, i have often searched for things in this labyrinth of technology only to come up empty-handed, but that is because i am a complete luddite. our new friend may be equally tech-challenged and all he did was ask a reasonable question.

don't let it put you off. ask away!

Fellow luddite here Ken, and I concur.  Cheers.

I apparently have missed all the fun today on this thread. Seriously though, as I read all the responses, it would appear that everyone was trying to help and nothing was to be taken offfensively. While I am a newbie here, I don't consider myself all that new as my cabinet is almost as old as my oldest son. That being said, I have all of you to thank for now needing 3 more storage containers as I have even more fallen in love with having a good smoke and look forward to joining all of you possibly next year in Cuba.
