So after winning the Cohiba one I decided to take a little break. I passed the DEF and the HDM but its time to be back again.

Wasn´t sure if I can make it though due to a damn flu. I opened my JLS1 box and found one cigar with cracked foot so here I am.

After lighting the cigar I had zero resistance and smoke output. Hm? Then I realised the cap is untouched. Lol :D Never happened before don´t know what I was thinking, haha. But it meant no cold draw and pre light aroma obviously. Whatever I thought...

Made a quick guillotine cut and voila it opened up. Actually it was a bit loose for my taste but so be it. That is just Cuba.

It started a huge cuban twang. The one I mostly get out of fresh, young tobacco. This cigar has only 9 month on it from box date - no surprise. It was sweet and spicy. Cinnamon. Fresh tobacco, bit of hay or grass kinda thing. Very pleasant. Citrus peel was in the foreground as the main note. Love it.

The 2nd third was pretty much the same. However after the halfway point coffee showed up and became the main flavour. The citrus peel was still present but the sweetness stepped back. Those things all together gave me a very nice experience. They were all there up and down. In and out. Very nice.

The last third. I got some floral notes. Coffee was fading out and I had whiskey in there. Was like an aftertaste whiskey note. Strange but nothing else I could think about. Maybe its oak. But it was so good I was not able to put the thing down. Nubbed and loved.

So far so good. I like the JLS1 a lot. Great format, great taste, balanced but punchy. Its in the face. My style.

We had a nice 1h 45 min together. Paired with expresso.
